The Diode arrays allow GK-3 to survive IEC 61000-4-2 ESD Immunity compliance testing rules - these CE compliance rules  / regulations did not exist in 1988 when the GK-2A 1st arrived on the scene

and manages potential momentary ESD over voltage spikes  that could blow out the opamp output stages if you often disconnect and re-plug the GK 13 pin plug without  powering down the GK Processor ( GR-55/VG-99/etc) while wearing leather shoes on a carpeted stage and wearing a wool sweater
