Not sure where to post this so I thought post in here.  I'm after a bit of advice from anyone who might have done anything like this before.

I'd like to combine a Fender Roland strat, Fernandes sustainer and a Guitar Wing into a single guitar.  Reading through posts on various forums I've concluded the following:

The Roland strat has three single coils.  The bridge pickup will need to be replaced with a humbucker and I'm probably going to go for a Dimarzio Chopper as it's got a high output, is single coil size and I'm a fan of Richie Kotzen ;-).  I've read that the sustainer driver unit (I'm going to use a single coil one) can interfere with a neck pickup.  I note that Steve Vai has both Sustainiac and Fernandes drivers in his guitars along side a bridge pickup but I have no idea if they coexist or if the neck pickup is unwired.

I expect to have a cavity routed behind the bridge to mount the electronics for the sustainer and have the controls on the front in that location.

And lastly I expect to partially dismantle the Guitar Wing, surface mount it on the scratchplate and house the rechargeable battery within the existing cavity or slightly enlarge it.

I won't be doing this myself, I know of a good luthier who'll be able to handle it but before I push the button I thought I'd seek any advice from any of you that have done any of these things.
