This seems to work,

1.) Use the GT-100 Tone Studio (for GT) to download Patch Sets and export them to a folder, or find *.tsl patches online to download to a folder.

(next step for windows - possibly other software exists for other platforms)
2.) Download JSONEdit, a special editor for JSON file, which *.tsl patch files actually are this type.
http://tomeko.net/software/JSONedit/
you will need to unzip the JSONEdit.exe file to a folder and add your own shortcut if required.
I have 'associated' *.tsl patch files with it, so they automatically invoke JSONEdit when "double-clicked",
right click on a *.tsl patch file, and select 'open with' > 'Choose default program'
and find and select "JSON Editor"
and check the 'always use the selected program to open this type of file' check-box.

3.) Once your GT-100 Tone Studio patch bundle is open in JSONEdit, select "device" and note the sub-item window displays "GT",
change the is to GT-1 and save the file.

4.) Open GT-1 Tone Studio and Import the recently modified patch file..... there it is in GT-1 Tone Studio ready to use. !!!

Just to follow on from Gumtown's post, if you have a Mac you can do the following workaround:

1)  Download your .tsl patches.

2)  Go to the AppStore and search for TextWrangler and download it.

3)  Highlight and copy this code:

#!/usr/bin/python
import fileinput
import json
print json.dumps( json.loads(''.join([line.strip() for line in fileinput.input()])), sort_keys=True, indent=2)
Save this into a file called Tidy JSON.py

4)  Go to your Terminal app and type in nano and press return.

5)  Once nano has loaded, press the "cmd" key and your "v" key to paste in the copied code above.

6)  Press "ctrl" and "o" and give this file a name of Tidy JSON.py  You must use this exact file name.

7)  Press "ctrl" and "x" to exit.

8)  Navigate to where you saved your "Tidy JSON.py" file, it will usually be sitting in your home folder.

9)  In the Finder menu select go > go to folder... and copy this folder name into the box:  ~/Library/Application Support/TextWrangler/Text Filters

10)  Once you're in that folder place your Tide JSON.py file in there.

11)  Now you're ready to open up your .tsl file in TextWrangler.  Find your .tsl file that you have downloaded and right mouse click on it and go to
open with > other.  Scroll down your applications menu until you come to TextWrangler and double click on the TextWrangler icon.

12). Once the .tsl file is opened with TextWrangler press "cmd" and "a" to select all the text.  You will see a menu at the top of the screen called "Text". Click on this Apply Text Filter > Tidy JSON.

13)  That's it!  Just press "cmd" and "s" to save the file and you can now open it up in your GT-1 editor.

Actually, I experience a problem after I've imported the patches into my GT-1 editor.

When I have saved them, I can't navigate past them with the footswitch.  My GT-1 gets stuck on the imported patch.

Is there any trick to do the same on katana with gt 1/100 patches?

Use Katana FxFloorBoard and just open your GT-100, GT-10, GT-8 or ME-80 patch with the "File Open" menu command,
the patch will load and convert the required parameters.

Yes, the same by using GT-100FxFloorBoard editor,
download (GT-100 specific editor) from here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/fxfloorboard/files/GT-100FxFloorboard/

The easy way now is to just use GT-1FxFloorBoard editor, and directly load GT-100, GT-001, Katana, GT-10, GT-1B, GT-10B, GT-8, and Boss ME-80 patches.

download the GT-1FxFloorBoard (specific for the GT-1) from here:

This a great bit of software as always. It works for me with gt001/100 patches but fails on the me80 ones. Im running a mac, Catalina.
Shame you can not change setlists! Only patch by patch! But hey what you do is great. My gr55 would not be the same without your efforts. 👍🏻

I have the same problem when loading a GT-100 file in the GT-1.I cannot change the patches anymore, I even have to go back to factory settings to get the thing working again. I also tried the JSON editor but it stopped my trial when I couldnt find the 'device, that was mentioned in the insruction/ (older version?)
Many of the posts are from 2017, does this mean it is just not possible to load 100 to the 1 board? Since the two machines have very different lay]out in effects it sounds logic you cant.
Does anybody have an idea here?

And why tf do I have to know how many pins there ar in a GK Cable! I am not the cable guy
