OK here's a little track for those who need some EZ listening (not so easy?).

I took my own Crystalline Pod sound and did some editing to make it seem more similar to the Crystal Rain patch that Bill Ruppert
did for the VG99 which emulates the shimmering crystals patch on some expensive Eventide units.  To quote Bill "I love the way
the VG99 does it".  Uh yeah, understatement.   But I still am not as close as I want to the actual crystals patch Bill did although
I'm getting closer.

In my exploring I came up with a sound I've heard before - it actually sounded almost exactly like a smoother rendition of the patch
that fusion guitarist Allan Holdsworth uses on his guitar on the track "House of Mirrors" from his "Hard Hat Area" CD which I believe
is an Eventide H3000 patch.

AH's version of it has a lot of animation to it but the version I came up with is very smooth and "expensive" sounding.  If anyone
wants this patch, let me know.

As if that isn't enough, I then took that edited version of the crystal pod patch and put E and A strings as bass and I ended up with
this track in about five minutes:

http://pod.ath.cx/vg99/tunes/asb-rememberance.mp3

I played to a drum loop improvising a kind of "obvious chord progression" performing the bass and "guitar with synth pads" live.
After I did that I added the overdriven guitar.

The lead guitar was added in one pass after using a new custom patch to duplicate the sound of a Mesa Boogie studio preamp lead
tone which in turn is processed to sound kind of like my Lexicon Vortex/TC Electronic G sharp rig all in the VG!  I basically have it stored in
the VG without any effects except reverb but I had some fun doing a "basic rock and rolla" type instrumental with the VG.

The whole thing was kind of a experiment - it sounds a lot more layered but it's only six tracks on the multitrack.
