¿ Are there any members using a battery power pack/block/ with a Roland
GR33 ?

I've had my FreePlay up and working sans A.C. but not the other gear . I
want to pull the trigger to get the system totally A.C. free for a project  :D

I do not want to come up short on this first outing with the whole ball
of wax hooked up  >:( :

#1: Source Audio Hot Hand 3 base ( ( 9VDC )
#2: Source Audio Programmable EQ ( 9VDC )
#3: Radial Tonebone Bumper Instrument Selector ( 9VDC )
#4: T.C.H Voice Live 3 X ( 12VDC 1.A)
#5: Roland GR33 ( not exactly sure the power supply says : In : A.C.120 ~ 60Hz 35 Watts - Out A.C 14V ~800 mA)

I always prep/plan my move long before I make it and rehearse it over and over
before it's , [ SHOW TIME ] mentally as well as physically , this has been my style
of doing stuff since I was a kid , learning how to run a photography studio/darkroom
with my grandfather the owner , this was one my ( oh yeah - were talking the late 50's )
first serious undertakings as a kind and later into my athletics .

¿ I just saw on Amazon power bank kits at reasonable prices , has anyone explored this
/these rechargeable prospects as well in the forum ?

EZ , Peace & Thank You [Elantric ] and to all who have been a great source of information and help to me
so far since I joined this forum :

Roland GR-33 is older generation  - uses a Roland BRC-120 (14VAC @ 800mA) power supply

GR-33 14VAC POWER INPUT

If you attempt to use a 14VDC battery external supply -you will not have the -7VDC (-A7) negative voltage Power Rail for the internal opamps and GK-3

Thanks , I have a Godin LGXSA and don't use the GK-3 system .
¿ Will this be an issue still with the Godin's pre amp  ?

Yes - because when GK 13 pin cable is connected,  the Godin still uses the -7V supply from the processor for its hex buffer

and the Analog signal path internal to the GR-33 relies on the -A7 power rail

Sound like the solution - - -  is a long walk around the proverbial mountain .

Battery , A.C. inverter - power strip plug and the GR33 wall wart , gonna look fugly :P

Thanks .

For another approach; if you could use two 9V batteries to generate 18VDC, there's a simple circuit to generate 14VAC directly, similar to this one:

http://www.electronicshub.org/12v-dc-220v-ac-converter-circuit/

You would not need the step-up transformer in this case.

I would have the Gr33 modified for DC power

Using a modern voltage inverter for the 7v negative  power rail

Or a different guitar to midi system

FTPwith ipad works for mobile gigs

Yep , it's looking like the long way around the mountain -
Oh well it's not the first time I've taken that proverbial hike
& it' won't be the last one either .

A good decent inverter & battery is I guess cheaper than a
FTP/Ipad system or another midi system .

:-\
It's time to review inverters I guess , it's just a question of time to
find one that doesn't look like a radar base is at my feet or near me
, I'm after , small , sleek , unobtrusive & good looks . ;)

Modding the GR33 is something that's not going to happen .

Thanks
