I have a problem...I can't connect the unit to the computer, because I have updated to Windows 10 and the drivers are not compatible. Have anybody experienced the same?

Bob Wells

Hi all, just a bit of info on this subject.
I tried to setup my JS-8 e-band to work with my Windows 10 PC, with no success, so I e-mailed Roland & they said they would not be supporting the JS-8 for Win 10, so I looked at some of the other units JS-10 for example, and guess what no drivers for Win 10.
I think this is poor to say the least, will I have to downgrade my O/S just to suit Roland (i don't think so) looks like good by to Roland & Boss for me.

FWIW - Roland Boss is not the only manufacturer who stops offering new drivers for latest operating system

I have a Yamaha DSP Factory that runs just fine, on WinXP ( the last OS Yamaha supported)

Its common for working studios to use stale operating systems, that fully support the gear used in that studio.

The best professional studio in my town uses an 8 year old Mac Pro and Protools 6

Get used to planned obsolescence, because as sure as 2017 will arrive, you can be sure that Windows 11 will arrive forcing yet another round of lack of drivers.  I still own a few older computers because each has a specific use for specific  gear that remain working tools for me.

By avoiding the latest greatest operating system, this yields more music productivity for me. I specifically seek the best hardware for running older operating systems
