Roland VG-99 MIDI trigger rough latency tests
« on: July 21, 2015, 05:51:47 AM »
Out of curiosity I did some non-scientific latency tests with my VG-99 through my iConnectMIDI4+ and direct to my MAC from the VG-99.

1. Using VG-99 DIN straight to the iConnectMIDI4+ was the fastest route.
2. VG-99 using advanced usb routed through my Raspberry PI ALSA setup into one of the USB hosts of the iConnectMIDI4+. Shy of 1 ms slower than the above.
3. VG-99 straight to my mac mini using Roland driver just above 1 ms slower than the fastest option and about 0,15 ms slower than the Raspberry PI route.

To V or not to V: That is the question.
