Hi,

This is an interesting tuning.  It's known as the powerchord tuning, and it sounds awesome with OD, but equaly awesome with a nice accoustic guitar sound.

Try playing scales over it - I played the normal pentatonic and harmonic minor scales in the normal positions (instead of transcribing them for the tuning) and it sounds very different, but nice.

I've been using this tuning for a number of years to great success - before I was able to downtune with my gr-55 I used to buy mixed packs of strings, regular guage for 1 and 2, heavy guage for 3 and 4, and some real thick ones from an 8 string guitar pack for 5 and 6.

a very versitile tuning, especially for melodic style playing where jumping around the octaves very quickly is useful.  This is one of those tunings that I think everyone should try out at least once.

I've changed it now to a baritone version - BEBEBE.  Try that with the Hughs & Ketner patch and things start to get scary!
