Hi Everyone,
I've searched and cannot find any mention of this issue.  When I assign a Midi CC to be output to my PC from the Expression Pedal, its resolution is very coarse. Values jump by 4 or 5 with even the slightest move of the pedal.  I've checked Data Thin and that doesnt make any difference.  I've also tried using the GK Volume knob as the source for outputting a Midi CC and get the same result.  Is this normal?  If not, what can I do to get the full 127 steps of resolution?
Thanks for a great forum!

Yes, this is typical in my experience. MIDI CC3 supports 7 bit resolution.

(Explains why MIDI Pitch Bend uses dedicated controller with 14 bit resolution)

What are you trying to control that demands such tight resolution?

At first I was assigning a CC to a filter in a softsynth and, of course, because of the coarse resolution I am getting zippering of the filter sweep.  Not the end of the world, but it seems weird that they cant get 127 steps out of the expression pedal.  Oh well.  Thanks for the quick response!

Explains why N R P N Sysex format is preferred for some controls.

Remember the GR-55 was designed to tight economic spec  with Not many spare CPU clocks to add more features. It's likely another MIDI Controller may yield true 0-127 resolution in 1step increments.
