Hi everyone

I just got my GR55 4 days ago and I've been having some great fun with it - so different to my HD500.

So, I've made quite a few patches - some from scratch and some tweaked from the factory presets and that works fine but I've run into the strangest problem....

I managed to find out how to turn on the pickups of my PRS to come through the unit (thanks to this forum) but now if I amend a couple of the patches that started as presets (but which are now in my user area) and turn off the GK3 modeled pickup and replace it with my guitars magnetic pickup, it's fine while I do that and when I hit write twice I get the "writing now" message but it won't save the pickup setting changes and reverts straight back to the modeled pickup instead.

Anyone have any ideas why that might be?  As I said, I created a couple of patches from scratch using modeled pickups before I got my magnetic ones working and those have saved fine when I turn off the modeled pickup.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

GR-55 FAQ: TOP THINGS TO KNOW

Hearing Your Normal (Guitar) Pickup Signal

If you want to hear your guitar's original pickup sound in the GR-55, you need to activate the NORMAL PICKUP switch within each patch. Here's how.

1. Choose a patch to edit.

2. Press the EDIT button.

3. Press PAGE left until you select the TONE menu.

4. Press the down-cursor button to select NORMAL PICKUP.

5. Turn the dial to highlight the NORMAL PICKUP box.

6. Set the GK select switch to the MIX position.

Note: If you want to hear only the guitar sound, de-select the PCM1, PCM2, and Model boxes as well.

If desired, press WRITE to save the new setting as a User patch, and then repeat the process for any patch in which you want to hear the original pickup sound.

#5 NOTE! (page 63)
If you edit the value of a parameter that's assigned to a controller, and then save the patch, some parameters will be overwritten with the initial state of the controller. This will make it seem as though the edited value has not been saved. To avoid this situation, choose the OFF setting for the PEDAL/GK CTL parameter FUNCTION (p. 55, p. 76) and for the ASSIGN parameter SWITCH (p. 57) of the function being assigned.
