My band played a recent private gig (50th), on the front porch of a house in an area called Waipu Cove in New Zealand.
I recently brought a used Edirol UA101 (10in/10out) USB audio interface, so I used my laptop with Cakewalk Sonar 6, and used mixing desk channel inserts to tap into for the live recording.
The 8 recording channels consist of kick, snare, overhead, di bass, mic'd guitar, 3 x vocals.
I had left my bag of mics at home, so had to dig deep into the bottom of the leads bags to recover some crappy old Shure PG10's and a Peavy mic to do the snare, and overhead and guitar.
Other mics are SM58 and AKG D5, and can't remember the model of the kick mic, an AKG egg shaped one.

The mix down was fairly minimal and rushed.
Didn't have any video footage, so only 2 photos of the night and the rest are from previous events.
I'm the scruffy one on the bass.

Hats off, the mix sounds real clean, with nothing sounding out of the way......nice mixing.... :)

Yes, the Waipu area is typically a very Scottish settlement.
so someone inevitably pulled out the bagpipes and asked if we could play  ACDC's "It's a long way to the top" (if you want to rock n roll).
Which we happily obliged.
