FEATURES OF THE OPERATION OF THE UNIT AMT PANGAEA CP-100FXThe AMT PANGAEA CP-100FX all pulses are loaded with a microSD card. The device has a full-fledged file browser that allows you to "roam" on your card, and listen to the sound of the pulse in real time. Saves all pulses in the internal memory of the device, in particular preset effects settings with FX.In addition, access to the internal memory can also be arranged through a USB connection to a PC - for storage or sharing presets, as well as downloading software updates. At the same time the computer will recognize the device as well as in the case with the device AMT PANGAEA CP-100: a standard "flash" memory.

For each preset has 16 controllers. That is, you can assign a 16-ty of key parameters (volume, modulation speed, power on / off, etc.) that can be customized to any midi controller (or on an external expression pedal, for which there is a connection socket). Thus, you have the opportunity to manage one preset with 16 parameters in real time. At the same time the expression pedal, of course, is calibrated. The device has a switchable master volume and three-band master EQ to correct for a specific case.On the side panel there is a S / PDIF output signal with two connection modes - the master output or Dryvyhod - output directly to ADC.

AMT is proud to introduce to you the new AMT Pangea CP-100FX. The CP-100FX is not just an impulse guitar cabinet emulator, however an extremely powerful effects processor as well.

The AMT Pangea CP-100FX will allow you to create a quality sound emulation of any guitar cabinet by loading appropriate impulse responses (IRs) of guitar cabinets; anywhere, with no DAW/VST/computers required.

All impulses are loaded from microSD card. The device has a build-in file browser, which allows to walk around your card and listen to impulse sounds in real time. All impulses are stored on device's internal memory, in a particular preset,  including settings for FX effects. Additionally, the internal memory access can also be made with the help of a PC via USB connection, for preset storage and exchange or loading of software updates.

Every preset has 16 controllers (effect blocks). So you can designate 16 key parameters (loudness, modulation rate, on/off parameters, etc.), which can be configured for any MIDI controller (or for an external expression pedal, for which there is a plug connector). Hence, you have a possibility to control 16 parameters in a single preset in real time.

Modes of IR File Operation:

MODE 1: Loading of one mono IR with with 24 bit х 48 kHz 85.33 ms long (4096 samples) with the total signal delay of 1.5 ms (milliseconds).
MODE 2: Separate loading of two mono IRs with the same parameters as in MODE 1, adjustable for volume and pan with the total signal delay of 1.8 ms.

CP-100FX Internal Effects Blocks:

You, Mr. Sustainiac are an enabler.
:) ;) ::)
Cool box looks like a very nice one. AMT preamps have always been good - this looks great for the price.
I like that there was a cat in the demo, cats improve the sound of all demos.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only person on the forum who continually accumulates gear and never seems to have any going in the other direction...

Waiting for my replacement unit right now. That little glitch aside; this box is a great match for the GR guitar tones. Or just about any preamp pedal you will throw at it for trad guitar tones.

vtgearhead

I just picked up one of these from a seller on TGP.  Will post my impressions after I've had a chance to play with it.

Is this a poor man's Kemper?? Looks like (acoustic) instrument IRs can be loaded too, eh? That would take away my 13-pin need....  Steve, Snhirsch, what's the word, you gents seem to like it?

Trying to ring out old gear to be able to ring in some new, darn this forum  :P
Take what you need, put back a bit more, leave the place behind you better than it was before :-)

Not a poor man's Kemper, but perhaps closer to an Atomic Amplifire.  It doesn't have built-in high gain overdrive capability, but if you provide crunch from an external pedal or amp it can round out the sound quite nicely. I have mine in the effects loop of a Katana 100w combo and use the built in IR player, echo and chorus.  MIDI control capability (as client or controller) is comprehensive and flexible.  Documentation is terse, but complete and useful.

My only complaint is that it really needs a PC based editor.  The control arrangement is not too bad, but when trying to juggle a bunch of patches I like a good view of what goes on in each of them without the need for menu diving.

I wish they would have incorporated a few of their preamps into this box. There is a preamp block, but it offers basic eq with no real gaining possibilities. I can see an editor being useful yet I actually liked the UI on device and didn't feel like it was lacking in that regard.

I sold mine and got a Kemper instead; so my Kemper was an AMT replacement  ;D FWIW; the acoustic presets that shipped with the AMT were pretty solid. Coming from someone who doesn't own an acoustic, at least.

In my secret identity as 'vtgearhead', I was the purchaser of your unit :-).  The IR player really adds a nice feel to the sound of my Katana combo.  The engineer in me was concerned about heaping a guitar speaker IR on top of another guitar speaker, but I really like the result.  IRs are specific to one drive level and the ones I settled on represent conditions I would never drive my Katana speaker to during performance.  So, it's a way to get that inimitable Marshall 4x12 (sealed cabinet) "thump" at modest overall SPL.

I wondered  ;D Not too many out in the wilds as of yet. Glad to see you have it dialed in! The Katana is already great on it's own so it's probably just a case of giving that extra bit of polish to the proceedings!

Should I create a AMT PANGEA CP-100FX patch sharing area?

gtlist

so, NUX Cerberus and AMT PANGEA CP-100FX are  seems like new competitor. For me, I use Roland Gp-10 directly connect to the main mixer. sound pretty good but amp and cab of gp-10 is not that impressive. I know fractal and kemper. just exceed my budget. so these guys are pretty interesting. I hope someone compare these two.
Fender Stratocaster American Deluxe hss with gk3.Tom Anderson Atom wraparound bridge.
Tom Anderson Crowdster plus+ with gk3.
Steinberger GTPro hsh with sustainer pu and Gk3
Taylor 814CE,   Taylor GS Mini, Epiphone masterbilt dr500mce, martin xt1
Roland Gp-10, voicelive 3, Boss Sy-1000

vtgearhead

I'm reasonably happy with the CP-100FX, but growing disenchanted with AMT themselves.  All my e-mail to them is ignored and after almost two months of repeated tries at registration I've given up on access to their forums.
