Man it does not get any better than him!
His feel is insane.
Every note is where you wish you could play one. Note perfect.
He is a true gift to guitar.

Everything he plays on ends up being favorites.
My music projects online at http://www.aliensporebomb.com/

GK Devices:  Roland VG-99, Boss GP-10, Boss SY-1000.

I flip-flop between inspired by those perfect parts and tones, and demoralized knowing I'll never be that good.  ::)

Recently I saw a video with Larry from 1979: Room 335 - Montreux Jazz festival 1979-07-22

Though not a good video and sound quality, this version sounds very fresh and energy-loaded to me. His phrazing was more "rocky" those days...

Had forgotten about him being shot. He's very lucky to be alive, we're all lucky to still have him playing.

I never saw this. Larry has a early GK pickup on his guitar!

He had a Roland  GM-70 guitar to MIDI  Rack converter

He wrote/cowrote a few TV Theme songs with it- triggering a DX-7 & Juno-106

"Who's the Boss"

He often used Terry Trotter (Keyboards) for the final session - but sketch the demos /songwriting using the GM-70

And I recall he also had a GR-300 & GR-700 - in his home studio at top east side of Cahuenga Pass (less than 1/2 mile from Don Randi's "Baked Potato" venue)

Ah yes I still have a GM-70 and that was the controller for it.
I tell you I would love to have the publishing for a hit sitcom that is in reruns for 30 years!
I remember that Whos the Boss thing. First time I heard it I loved the last line which was total Carlton.
Thank youfor the info!

Slightly off-topic but as far as old GR gear I just watched a video of Lindsey Buckingham's rig in 2012 where he was still using two (24+ year old) GR-50s!
