this is the latest update for windows (other platforms soon)
https://sourceforge.net/projects/fxfloorboard/files/experimental/

and it now has a pulsating Katana logo too  ;D

Added the system settings and Panel Knob setting, and the led selection tools, fixed the S/R Loop, system save/load.

Patch level works on Katana FX Floorboard Master EQ editor when moved, others do not for me.

Patch level

In SysEx and .tsl you can set the Patch Level. It acts as a master volume after all effects. By default this is set to the maximum 200%.
ANY change to the front panel will reset this value to 200%. I would not recommend using it in your patches. Use the front panel MASTER knob and POWER CONTROL instead.

Forced flat on all values (+0db).

Does that mean that, beside 7 patch collections for Katana on Boss Tone Central, now we can download (and convert) bunch of other patch collections for those other multi-effects? :o

Yes, although results may vary depending on what effect parameters are used in the patch.

Poor old "patch level" control will end up all alone on this edit page.

Minor nit report against 424:

1. When I write the current patch out as *.tsl the GUI comes back on the same patch but the on screen settings are completely wrong.  If I double-click I can bring the patch back in, but I would have expected it to persist on screen past the save.

2. The "Patch Created by" field has about 6-7 characters worth of garbage on the left.  These cannot be deleted in the dialog (which also shows these characters).

UPDATE: I took a close look at the TSL files created by 424 and the above-mentioned garbage makes them invalid JSON.  Didn't get a chance to try reloading in floorboard, but my Python formatter will not parse them.

Operationally, all is good.

QuoteIt shows the Katana as connected, the connect button is green.
Offers Katana, katana daw, and katana ctrl in the 2 drop boxes, I chose Katana for both.
But when I go through the amp selections in the drop menu nothing changes on the amp.
In the earlier version just hovering over an amp would change it to that amp.

Gumtown wrote>
That feature was removed as someone had complained about the way that worked.
So now it works like a regular combo-box, where you have to select an amp type with your mouse.
If the combo-box has been selected, from there you can also use up/down arrow keys to select through the amp types.

I assume you have also found the deep edit pages for each effect, by either a double left mouse click,
or right mouse click on the 'body' area of each effect stomp-box,
or a mouse click on the effect button in the upper row.

You can also change the effect order of all the stomp-boxes, simply by selecting a stomp-box and holding down the mouse button,
and dragging the stomp-box to the new position in the chain.
The chain signal flow is from left to right.
This offers more flexibility over the Katana's fixed 3 chain positions in Tone Studio.

I am new to windows - I bought a laptop to use BTS and this software - so excuse the newbie question: Do I need to uninstall the previous version, or does the update do that automatically?

Elantric

I find it's best to uninstall the old version first

Over on the lower left click "Start", then locate Katana FXFloorboard Editor and click Uninstall

@mo

OH MY G..

I totally missed this for nearly a month! What a happy sunday this will be. Comp before Drive, other amp voicings, new effects... It's like having a new amp.

THANK YOU!

@gumtown I have a special request. Would it be possible that when you go into Tools/Patch Text Summary, that we can see the preamp settings in the standard view? To see it, you have to go into the "expanded view" feature. Cheers

J.W.C.

Is the Linux source for this available? I run Arch and was thinking of building it (ldd shows that the Ubuntu binary links several libraries I have on my system, but it's looking for older versions than I have installed).

Quote from: neastguy, post: 24059260, member: 3622is there a flow chart somewhere as to how to use the floorboard and BTS together..  I'm pretty late to the party it seems

does one overwrite the other?

You NEVER run both BTS and Gumtowns Katana FX FLoorboard apps together i.e. never have both apps opened and connected to the Katana at the same time - (that will likely present big problems !

Hey Guys

I am a complete noob to this software.  I just got a Boss Katana 100 head.  As you know, The Boss Tone Studio software is no longer available ans I want to try the floor board.  I have to tell you:  I opened it and did not have a clue as to how to get started.  Is there a doc somewhere for absolute beginners?

Thanks

Outta Toon

Will the FX Floorboard Editor allow me to setup my Katana exactly like I could with the BTS without all of the extra bells and whistles?  Just got my head in yesterday and I am bummed about the BTS being shut down until the problems with Windows 10 are resolved.  If not, does the BTS still work with Macs?  I have a buddy that has one and I could probably use that with BTS to initially setup the amp the way I want it and then could I use the fxfloorboard to tweak the dials on my selected fx's when need be?

yes, with access to more amp types and effects than tone studio offers.
