Can someone please help me with getting sound to my amp.  I'm running into my MAC thru an iRig 2 device.  Then I want to go to the Foot Controller.  I just can't seem to get the right connection.  I can get the MIDI sounds to play on my guitar and to the amp but not a mix of midi & guitar.
A brief, simple explanation as to how to connect all this would be very helpful.
Thanks !

The guitar signal should go straight to the amp. Does your amp have an effects loop? Then you can connect the irig to the return of the loop.

What kind of amp do you have?

Read the FTP manuals and tutorials all available here

QuoteThe guitar signal should go straight to the amp.

This conflicts with the recommended FTP method.

These FTP docs explain that you will have you connecting your guitar to the same audio interface on the computer where the FTP control application is running and you will be using Guitar modeling apps supplied in the FTP software bundle ( NI guitar rig or IK multimedia Amplitube)
only in this manner  will your FTP Controllers three-way switch Function.

Of course if you connect your guitar straight to an amp that FTP three-way switch will never function

My main amp is a Fender Princeton.  I've been able to use all Guitar  Mix  Synth  while connected to the computer, but I need to get the signal to my amp and still be able to do the same.
Thanks

Hello Elantric
Would you mind explaining more clearly than the FTP notes are able to do ?   I can't get the drift of mixing in guitar audio at all and I'm wondering if my three-way switch is actually faulty.   It's probably my head that's faulty so a detailed set-up description would be very much appreciated.

Well-  it's strange, isn't it.   Sometimes just asking for help can focus the mind.
I switched from using my EMU 1820m audio interface to my Roland Quad Capture and now the guitar/TP set-up functions just as I anticipated it should.
I don't know why but the EMU was putting the guitar through the monitors directly-  and so over-riding the TP controller.

Can anybody suggest how I might overcome this with the EMU ?   I'd like to use it with TP in my studio.

Yes-  and some are clearly written, some are not.
As you can see-  my own problem was hardware related.
