Hey guys,

I happily bought the GT-100 yesterday and hooked it up to a little giant amp head and, sigh, the sound sounds so flat, so lifeless, I don't know what to do. I'm so frustrated. Can someone please try to help me out ?

Please.

Thanks in advance.

Best you can do is disable the GT100 Amp modeling in all patches you want to use.

These GT-100 are designed to sound best feed at full range PA , not a 5 watt  guitar amp

I have similar gear - (Vox AC4) but I never connect the GT100 to it because as Mike Meyers would say in a scottish accent  "
"Its sounds like cr*p"

Jesus, I spent so much money, and I can't use it to it's fullest ? is this for real ? It sounds different when I remove the USB cable from the unit, should that matter in anyway ?

USB should not make a difference.  But the biggest with guitar amp modelling is to make sure your signal only passes through one amp.  So with a modelling amp don't use a real one as well.

Plug in headphones in the GT100 and discover its true potential...

The Blackheart BH5H Littel Giant 5 watt amp is not " gig able" with a live drummer  - its best for recording or home use.

IMHO - Might as well connect the GT-100 to a Little Smokie amp

It is a complicated bit of machinery and requires more than a few hours to master it.
Input level setting has to be calibrated,
Output setting has to be set to match the device plugging into,
internal preamps should not be used when plugged into the front end of a guitar amp.

Thanks for your awesome replies guys.

I realize that this device is not so easy to get a grasp on, but I'm gonna give it a shot.

"Output setting has to be set to match the device plugging into" - Since I have a combo amp, this is what I choose in the output setting.

"internal preamps should not be used when plugged into the front end of a guitar amp" - can this be done via the device, or would I need to be using the tone studio to accomplish that ?

Thanks again for your help guys.

p.s - Do you happen to know where I could obtain the brothers in arms patch for my GT-100 please ?

Have some patience! There are people here who know what they're doing, and when they say that this is a good unit, you can believe them. And they can help you learn how to use it to its full potential.

I don't have a GT-100; I do however have a VG-99 which has an "Output Select" setting that lets me optimize the VG-99's output for the following devices to be connected to the VG-99 Main Output: JC-120, Small Amp, Combo Amp, Stack Amp, JC-120 Return, Combo Return, Stack Return, and Line/Phones.

Does the GT-100 have a similar setting? It's not uncommon for new owners to have this setting adjusted incorrectly.

GT-100 does - and its important to try them all when using a small amp
