Just wanted you guys to know that I am really lovin the Roland Ready Strat with the Gr-55. If you only have the multi pin connected, it still puts the output from the strat pickups themselves into the gr-55.

I am finding some interesting sounds by using one of the modeled guitars of the GR-55, and sending the output of the clean strat into whatever the effects were on the two synth parts, which lets you mix a little extra clean guitar into a patch. The other thing I like to do is if I am using a sitar as the modeled guitar or whatever, setting the CTL switch to turn off the modeled sound, and playing the strat instead through it. Plus being able to control the volume output of the entire GR-55 patch right from the extra knob on the guitar is great.

So, thats my whole new rig, just the Roland ready strat and GR-55

Aloha s,

Same here and the built-in GK2a pick-up works just fine with the '55;
so I installed the GK3 pick-up on an old Jazzmaster guit and that works fine as well.

Nice to have a synth back-up ax.

Good luck!
