Need a recommendation on a volume pedal.

I have a Behringer FCV100 but it colors my guitar tone a lot.

Signal chain would be:

Godin LGX-SA Electric 1/4" out---> Volume pedal---> Roland Duo Capture EX--->iPad 2 running Jam Up app---> Shertler Jam 150 amp

Thanks for your help.

FWIW - you will achieve a more uniform volume pedal response if you use the Godin LGX-SA's "Mix" combo Mag / Piezo Output jack - as this employs your built in RMC preamp buffer to deliver a low-Z output. (see "Output#3" below)

If you use your Godin LGX-SA's  "Output #1 Electric Only" jack, this is a non buffered Hi-Z  passive output and will be subject to signal loss if you use the wrong Volume pedal. If you do want to use the Mag Only Hi-Z output, seek a volume pedal with 500k ohm to  1meg ohm  input impedance

lately - i like the Visual Sound Visual Volume pedal as it has many features like a switchable boost buffer

Thanks for the reply Elantric.

I am also running a second cable from the 1/4" acoustic out directly to a second channel on the amp.  My main on-all-the-time tone is the LGX-SA acoustic tone and I use the volume pedal to bring up the electric output Jam Up tones during the chorus / bridge part of a song.

Thanks.

Im having good results using IK Blueboard +MAudio expression pedal as volume pedal mapped to MIDI CC#7  As volume pedal.
Realize since its a wireless bluetooth connection,  there is a slight response lag, but totally workable as a volume pedal. (might be a problem for a Wah-Wah, since the delayed response.)

Then my signal is

Guitar> Irig Pro> Ipad out> Rolls  DB24 DI box> PA

Using 1/4" to 3.5mm TRS adapter can the M-audio EX-P be plugged directly into the iRig Pro midi input to control Jamup Pro output volume?

Thanks.

No it will not work -  M-audio EX-P is simply a passive Potentiometer in a treadle footpedal

The iRig Pro has an adapter cable that converts the 3.5mm TRS " MIDI Input jack to 5pin MIDi IN.
Many use an FCB-1010  MIDI Foot controller and use its Expression pedals  to adjust volume.

I am using a FC-300 and am hoping, one day, to have a lighter weight, more compact, battery powered foot controller rig than the FC or FCB.

Thanks.

I'm converting this to battery power
1991 Zoom 8050 MIDI Foot Controller  - its about the size of two iPads placed next to each other

Read the  Zoom 8050  Manual - it has lots of special functions and is ideal size too
