RevPad - Guitar FX System, w/ FX Loop, and  Wireless Guitar TouchPad Interface.

The REVPAD in action at the NAMM show 2015 demonstrated by Gilad Pasternak and Royi Yaakoby

For more details about the REVPAD :
http://www.gtcsound.com

REVPAD is the first product of its kind, offering a whole new gtc_producttdimension of sounds, original effects and a vast range of creative options that were never available to guitar players before.

The REVPAD is a WIRELESS small, elegantly designed device, that can be easily attached (just like a sticker) on top of any amplified guitar – electric, acoustic or bass. It transmits to a sound processing base unit that contains high-end DSP effect algorithms along with traditional analog distortion and overdrive .

The REVPAD is a powerful tool to create new sounds and music. With a simple swipe or tap of a finger, the REVPAD provides guitarists full control of multiple effects parameters simultaneously (including their own existing effects units), enabling them to play the effects on the fly, and in a whole new dynamic way.
The REVPAD breaks the boundaries of guitar playing and revives the musical experience for generating tomorrow's music by combining modern touch technology with the traditional world of guitars.

A powerful tool to create new sounds and music. The REVPAD provides onstage capabilities and sound processing flexibility that were previously only available in the studio.

Bringing many new cool features into the guitar playing world such as smooth cross-fading between effects, super dynamic Kill Switch, Virtual Whammy bar; dynamic volume control, EZ tapping modes, unique ambient sounds, controlling external gear via wireless from the guitar and many more.

REVPAD expands any guitar beyond one's imagination and gives the ability to play unique and inspiring sounds.

A wireless unit, allowing full stage mobility and providing the player with flexible and accurate control of effects right from the guitar. It is the fastest and most convenient way to adjust sounds and effects without the need to go to the pedal board.

The ultimate tool for Pop, Hip-Hop and EDM guitarists. Producing sounds, which are strongly identified with those genres, can now be naturally and easily created by the REVPAD.

The REVPAD is intuitive, fun and feels natural from the moment you pick up your guitar.

Bass (active/passive), acoustic or any other amplified guitar will also benefit from the REVPAD power by allowing the player to take the instrument to new levels of expression and musicality.

Guitars have always played a leading role in Rock, Blues, Funk, Metal, Jazz, etc. In today's modern music, guitar players can find themselves struggling to fit in and find current sounds and play innovative guitar parts. REVPAD allows EDM and Pop guitar players to transform their own guitar into a powerful instrument making them fit naturally with every genre.

CONTROL EXTERNAL GEAR AND VST PLUGINS.
Most players have their own existing gear: stomp boxes; pedals; MIDI devices; VST plugins, etc. The REVPAD can replace these, having all the effects and sound flexibility a guitarist could wish for. However, we appreciate that each player has their irreplaceable favourite units, being a crucial part of their tone. This is why we have designed the REVPAD to be easily integrated with the player's complete audio environment whether if it's the pedal board, computer VST plugins, MIDI devices or expression. Imagine triggering a loop from your DAW while cross fading between clean and distortion with just one tap or swipe.

DOES THE REVPAD HAVE ITS OWN EFFECTS?
Yes and lots of them. The REVPAD transmits wirelessly to a base unit which contains high end traditional effects including: analog distortion and overdrive; delay; chorus; wah, flanger; vibrato; reverb etc. together with new effects provided by our TouchFX technology such as 'Dynamic Kill Switch'; EZ tapping modes; unique ambient sounds; cross fades; virtual whammy bar and many more.

HOW DO I ATTACH THE REVPAD TO MY GUITAR?
Easily. The REVPAD comes with 3 super slim (0.6 mm) little hook/loop fastener dots that stick on the guitar wherever wanted and is easily removed if a replacement is needed. The REVPAD attaches to the  dots firmly enough to endure even the most vigorous live performances and still be easy to remove. Your guitar stays clean and unharmed.

CAN THE REVPAD CONTROL MY PEDAL BOARD?
Yes, you can either place it in your pedal board in a standard serial connection like any other pedal, but the cool thing is that you can hook up your effects to the REVPAD base unit's external connection and have a wireless and much more flexible control over your pedal board and sound processing.

HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE TO GET USED TO THE REVPAD?
The beauty of this product is in its intuitive nature. There are lots of cool stuff that can be done with the REVPAD without any effort or practice, but this is a bottomless pit tool, that will inspire any creative guitarist to come up with crazy new sounds and playing techniques.

HOW DO I CHARGE THE REVPAD AND HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO DO IT?
Inside the package you will find a USB cable that connects the REVPAD to the base unit and operates as a charger, also for firmware updates and other applications. Battery life depends on usage but meets the industry standards of at least 3 hours of CONSTANT use without taking your hands off the unit, which is very unlikely. There's also the option of staying connected with the USB cable, when playing at home or recording when wireless control is not necessary.

DOES THE REVPAD USE SYNTHESIS OR ANY OTHER SIGNAL REGENERATION IN THE PROCESS?
Not at all. Players choose their specific instrument mostly by its tone and the last thing they want is to make this factor irrelevant by converting the original analog signal to MIDI. We consider tone and its purity, to be the most important aspect of our products. We use specific high quality analog components for our distortion and overdrive circuits and super high end algorithms and DSP processing power for other effects and special features. Preserving the natural character, dynamics and feel of your instrument is our first priority.

* Signal Flow Diagram with the movable FX loop, and Analog Distortion and other FX  / Gain Blocks

A: One of the major advantage of the RevPad is that it give you the freedom to  connect all of the effects (including the FX loop, Analog Distortion / Overdrive and many other digital effects) at any order that you like to choose and in three routing modes: serial, parallel and combo.

You can connect up to almost any eight effects at once and simultaneously control of almost all their parameters via the X-Y pad.

With regards to the analogue effects there is a limitation which allows you to build each effect's preset with only one analog effect which means you have to choose between distortion or overdrive (you can't play with booth of them at once) but, after choosing, you can place it anywhere you like in the chain.

You can connect the RevPad to be a part of your pedal board (just like pedal) or you may choose to connect all your pedal board, several pedals or only one pedal to the FX loop and control all of them as one effect device via the Pad).

* Specs of the USB Client port (is it MIDI USB Class Compliant and pass MIDI messages over USB to a connected Mac/PC/IOS/Android device?

A: The RevPad Base unit contains two USB connections; one of them is used to charge the battery or to be an alternative wired connection as a backup to the RF wireless port. The second USB connection is used for firmware and software updates.

* Specs of the USB Host port (does this support connection for Control Expansion using an external MIDI USB Class Compliant Controller to control the RevPads internal FX- for adding third party  real time FX control knobs for editing RevPad FX mid song at gig? I know it must do more than be a charge port for the RevPad Touchpad

Although the RevPad contains built-in hi-quality effects it also has several options to control other effects and devices during the gig such as:

1.       External pedal/effect-device control (via send, return loop)
2.       External pedal emulation (by the pad) for controlling devices with External pedal input.
3.       Midi controller (control any midi effects device or software via midi in)
4.       Midi effects (control our effects via midi in)
5.       Midi notes (Allows to set and generate sounds live from drum machines, sampler devices and midi modules)
6.       Auto pad –X-Y time based user patterns designed for live automation

With regarding your question about the Midi control ports, we currently support Midi-in, Midi-out and Midi thru,  only via the traditional MIDI connections since we found them to be more popular in guitar effects units (ie, Digitech whammy, eventide stomp box effects, TC, boss, line6 and Zoom multi-effects) and of course they are most available in pc sound cards .

Will it be an x-y pad and/or can the pad have multiple zones?

peace

Yes, you can assign any parameter of any effect ( up to eight effects and all of their parameters ) to the X-Y axis and you can use the z axis for effects mix change.
the pad can have multiple zone mode for favorite patches list and more

Royi, any plans for an LFO driven AW effect? Thanks.

jon
At the moment we do not have an LFO driven AW effect, though we do have different types of flitter effects in the device.
The REVPAD comes with a USB port for software updates, so we can update our users with new effects as well. we are always trying to find new sounds, and any suggestion and new ideas will be heavily considered by our team.

That, and a Guitar Wing together ought to do about anything. The Borg would approve! Borguitar!

Quote1299 is not cheap

You can say that again! The Guitar Wing is a clear winner, in that respect.

tracy

That looks like a very cool and versatile gadget. The controller size is great, but  you better love their multi effects box to invest the $$$ in the system.

Considering the market landscape and other products available the pricing feels out of touch - If not now, certainly within the next 6 to 12 months. Already, Guitar Wing makes this feel a bit redundant. Sure they both have their strength and weaknesses, but the price gap between the two says a lot about what the amateur and prosumer market might bear.

Recently at Thomas Nordegg's TimeSpeed Studio,

myself and the RevPad team used the SY-300 in the FX loop of the RevPad Multi-FX Floor box (with Analog Distortion and DSP FX + movable external FX Loop &  wireless guitar mounted wireless touch controller)
https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=15080.0

- and inserted the SY-300 in the RevPad's FX Loop - and could place the SY-300 anywhere in the Signal chain - with great results

- completely wireless with a Line-6 G50 Relay

The coolest thing was being able to use the RevPads guitar mounted touchhpad and blend between Clean Guitar > Distorted Guitar with Delay > SY-300 Synth > Tap the SY-300 IN/ Out of the signal path in what ever tempo you tap on the touchpad - all wirelessly  - the usual suspects are already placing orders for this powerful system

They are in LA all week demonstrating this same system for industry pros

We invented a wireless, multi effects processor that will change the way any guitar player expresses his unique sound. This guitar gadget does not sample the sound, what you will hear is your guitar's true organic sound.
This wireless device can be used in studio or on stage and can be interchangeable between guitars.
Replace your pedal board or keep using it - the REVPAD will allow you to do both.

GTC Sound Innovations

The REVPAD from GTC Sound Innovation easly took my Best of Show price at last year's NAMM. They were back and now with an even better product. They were quoting a delivery time in April and the way the demo players went at it, I can't wait to get my hands on a REVPAD. The two demo players, Amir (above) and Royi (below) really understood the possibilities presented to them by he REVPAD and they took guitar playing in directions I've never heard before. Top players!

They were also good at explaining things. New for this year with the REVPAD is that not only does the remote on your guitar wirelessly control a vast array of effects in the REVPAD floor unit, but it also sends MIDI so you can control all your other stuff as well. In this demo the REVPAD also controlled the pedalboard you see in the background which also included a Kaoss Pad for some exceedingly cool soundscapes.

The REVPAD controller mounts easily on any guitar using two small non-slip velcro pads that will not mar your guitar finish. The remote can easily be moved from one guitar to another.

BROCKSTAR

So I have one of these coming now and super excited. The possibilities of using it and being in a wheelchair seems great!

Weird story, I almost got one last year but didn't, then I moved and forgot all about it and the guy I was talking too on reverb was going to let me have it for $250 + $50 shipping. He's been asking $400 and shipping for it. So I remembered about this unit yesterday and found our conversation on reverb and he still had the unit up for sale, so I asked if he'd still do $250 + $50 and he said yes. Mint condition with everything and the box!

Super excited to see what I can do with it and my helix, zoia, sy-1000, sy-300 and poly digit and blofeld / preenfm2 synths.
