1. Why a Fender Rhodes? Plus he is driving it WAY to low that is why the drop outs.If he brought the gain up it would have worked.
He plays guitar... why this demo.
2.MEL9 "polyphony problem" demo. He is smashing his Fender Rhodes in to it with all seconds on both hands. That is like driving the
Mel9 with a mic-ed lawnmower! You get the same sound. Why?
Whats the point, its noise in noise out.

Here's his original post - I know some players want to use MEL9 with e-piano or Hohner pianet or something that nature because they can't or don't want to lug an M4000 to a gig, though this doesn't seem to be the case for this guy:

The sense I got is he played the Rhodes with the MEL9 just to experiment and have some fun.

Ah...a pianet would be better! For Rhodes it needs more level as the outputs are soft.
its just the smashing of two hands on the keyboard was REALLY misleading to people.

I really want to get my hands on this box - because I want to try SINGING through it in addition to using my guitar.  Would it work?  I want to try it!

I used to PLAY "In the Court of the Crimson King" with a band. It was kind of our "up yours" song in that it wasn't a snappy dance number but we liked it. We once played it at a bar gig in Colorado and took a break afterwards. We sat down at a table of cowboys and asked them how they liked the song. They said they thought it was great, but we had played it differently than the night before. Thing was, we weren't the band the night before, it was a Country band. Not likely they played THAT song.

That's when it dawned on my that at bar gigs almost nobody was listening.  ::)
Good story.  That's my favorite line in the movie Titanic. The musicians have been heroically playing  their hearts out trying to calm the panic of the crowd and they are packing it up to try to make the last life boat and one of the players states that "no one is listening anyway".

But bar crowds do listen. We had a song that we wrote called the "Klingon song" that we would play when the crowd were jokers. We'd play it and the room would clear out. Imagine listening to Latin jazz fusion and then  suddenly the band is playing metal.

Well that bar owner caught on after awhile and told us not to come back, he even accused us of giving our beer tickets to our friends, which we would never do.

BTW The was a cool demo Bill.

Just got the mel9. I think this is the only pedal can be compared with gr55, i love using a lot of ambient textures (strings and synth) and this pedal is great as well as gr55. Much better then b9 and c9 from ehx. Really great pedal. I' m about to put gr55 out from my pedalboard for space reasons and so i can use also my normal pickup guitars

The mel9 is also available in a eurorack module by custom order only.

EHX MEL9 VC Tape Replay Machine

The ADDAC709C is an official recreation of Electro-Harmonix's MEL9 Organ Machine pedal which is meant to "to transform your axe and resurrect the sound of vintage tape-based keyboards". Well here it is ready for your modular system!

Feed it with any audio signal you want, and look to be surprised. EHX's polyphonic pitch tracker makes any waveform turn into amazing tape-based textures, the three audio inputs makes it easier to achieve polyphony removing the need for an external mixer.

The module can only be ordered directly from our webshop: http://addacsystem.com/order
