And if you string it up as a right handed guitar, Left handed Strats do Sound different (Bridge PU is a different Angle )
Hendrix could afford to play any Strat, yet he remained with the Right handed version, for very specific reasons that were crucial to his technique.

In 1981 i discussed this with Stevie Ray Vaughn, when i set up his Strat at Valley Arts.

And a few other pros know this too. A Left Handed Strat Headstock Strung up as a Right handed guitar, will actually stay in tune better due to the headstock. Above the nut, the upper strings are shorter

It is a cool look (thanks largely in part to Hendrix) and I've always advocated the opposite bridge p/u slant, but I could never do with the reduced fingerboard access that comes with having the upper horn on the bottom.  A righty guitar with a reversed headstock is always good (a la the Yngwie signature strat), as is a pickup mod (a la everything Hamer did for Steve Stevens).

Protools 10 Full version - with Avid Eleven Rack $639

If you have priced the Protools 10 Full version alone - you know this is like getting the Avid Eleven Rack for $100
http://www.amazon.com/Avid-9900-65182-00-Tools-plus-Eleven/dp/B005LG0XTG/ref=sr_1_35?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1360284013&sr=1-35

Wow!  And, darn!  I just bought Pro Tools 10!

whippinpost91850

I have the Eleven Rack and use it exclusivly on stage with my GR55 until I discovered the Kemper 8) I still get good sounds out of it and it comes with Pro Tools 10 to boot. It'es a great buy.

King2040

If you wanna spend a little more cash, Sweetwater is running a deal on the Eleven Rack for 699 with Xpac and 4 VSTs, plus they have a bunch of artist exclusive presets loaded onboard.  Also, you get Pro-Tools 10. It's really worth the extra fifty bucks or so.  Running my VG-99 and 11R together has completely cured my GAS for at least a few years (other then a looper, hehe).

Hi guys...this may need to be moved to a dif forum: 11 rack has been around for a while but i never paid any attention to it. How does it compare with Boss GT FX units, for example? Mainly I'm always looking for response, more than a lot of tones. Thanks.

I talked a friend of mine into splitting the cost of the Amazon deal - he gets the software, I get the Eleven rack!  Thanks for the heads up!

Oh I am sorry that I just saw this last series of posts about the Eleven Rack.

I have one word of advice: Don't. The only people who should get it are those who are already using Pro Tools. I looked into this a while ago and the problems with Eleven Rack can be summed up quite succinctly: you need Pro Tools to offload presets and to use the editor. With what seemed to me to be Pro Tools' very finicky hardware requirements, it is a risky investment, for a Windows user at any rate. And as I recall from the research I did (quite a while ago at this point) Avid seems to have been hinting about an editor/librarian that does not require Pro Tools for years now but don't expect it any time soon. In fact, don't expect it at all until it actually gets here.

Also, I don't seem to think that USD$639 is really all that good of a price. It's a low price, as I recall, but *not* the kind of low price that should make you buy it if you were not already planning to do so. And actually, just checking eBay right now, you can get that deal, USD$638 and lower, from many authorized dealers there. And you can get a used Eleven Rack too but check on Avid's position on transferring software ownership, or buy a used Eleven Rack with an unopened software bundle.

If any information that I have posted here has become outdated since I did my research, I will be interested to know.

whippinpost91850

I own an Eleven Rack and used it on stage exclusively with my GR55 ( until I got my Kemper) 8) I'll be honest I think the user interface Is very intuitive and very easy to use. Never thought about an Editer. I only wish my Kemper was as easy and it isn't bad. And we all know what a "Debacle" the Roland UI is. Paul
