Hi folks, I tried (as I usually do) to find an answer on search but couldn't.

Do I need low or high impedance expression pedal for the VG99 or does it make no difference? I am thinking of the Boss FV pedal. I have no plans for the FC-300 yet.

These are volume pedals, not expression pedals.

Use the high impedance one if you prefer it before FX (fed straight from your guitar jack), low after FX.

Not particularly helpful in a 13 pin configuration, unless you feed a guitar out somewhere separately & want a volume pedal there.
Address the process rather than the outcome.  Then, the outcome becomes more likely.   - Fripp

Impedance is a property of AC circuits due to inductive/capacitive reactance and frequency
Your choice of Boss FV pedals looks to include both in/out for guitar connection, therefore the guitar pick ups reactance
A standard guitar cable should be used, the FV50 goes in series with the guitar and amp
The EXP connection is an expression pedal output
The effects pedal will monitor a DC signal across the connection and vary your assign etc
You need to connect a stereo cable
You also need to be aware of polarity, ie heel down/ toe down position
The FV range has more options onboard
I've used a dedicated EV5 expression pedal before I bought the FC300
