Kind of a low-profile alternative to the GuitarWing, targeting flattop acoustic guitars.  I am very intrigued.  (And the demo is wonderful!)

The ACPAD story
ACPAD was born out of necessity. A need for flexibility, live stability and creative freedom. Berlin musician Robin Sukroso needed a piece of equipment that would allow him to bring his love of both electronic and acoustic music together; that could withstand playing every night, that was easy and intuitive to play, and that could let him explore an entirely new world of sound.

The ACPAD began as an idea and a desire. After 3 years of research, development and a lot of trials, the ACPAD is finally ready for the world. Sukroso along with his partners at IIT Bombay created a new 2 mm thick interface having no wires or screws, a stick-on wireless MIDI controller that is powered by a rechargeable battery. ACPAD is a device with true portability and tonal versatility.

The ACPAD allows players to blend both acoustic and electronic sounds with FX and assignable tap pads. Create whatever sound you want with ACPAD. It is strong, flexible and offers a new world of creativity you have been looking for. ACPAD is an electronic orchestra in your hands!

Call me superficial but my first thought was, "I hope they do one with amber LEDs instead of blue."  Better suited to most acoustic guitars IMO.

Hi everybody, this is my first post here.I think you may be interested in this new controller: http://acpad.com/

On youtube:

All from an acoustic guitar. Very nice and lots of controls!Didn't see this mentioned here before so I thought I better post it.

This is my favourite forum for a few years now. Thanks for all the DIY-info, patches and gear-discussions.I love it. :)

Put this on one of the Godin SynthAccess acoustics for a powerful combination.

Realtime control of all the VG/GP/SY -parameters at your fingertips.

I hope this kick-starter finds the money to put it on the market. I would love to try it.

That won't work because it would cover the eq and volume sliders on the Godins, but it sure looks like a great piece of gear!

I'd like to see a demo with iPad instead of the standard laptop+Live.

My apologies if it has already been done but have you all seen this:

http://acpad.com/

Looks pretty useful. Not for me as I just don't play / use acoustics (except for my nylon classical) so I will wait and see if an electric version comes out. I don't think I'd stick it on my Yamaha SG2000 but might be able to bring myself to do so on my MIM Roland strat.

Well this is a little off topic because it is not a V guitar, it's a wireless control surface on an acoustic.  I kind of feel like "so what?" and it looks like too much to do while playing. But I just feel like it should be on the forum's radar.

electric: Epiphone Dot semihollow body, acoustic: mahogany jumbo, recording: Cubase Artist 11 or Tascam DP008

That was my second thought.

My first thought was, I couldn't play that level of complex beatbox/synth background rhythm while playing acoustic guitar!

If I were a full size acoustic guy, I'd be all over it, looks like you can integrate the hex for manipulation of the guitar sound as well, very cool!

Someone needs to hook Steve Morse up with one, he's the only other person I've seen so adept at doing crap with his right hand other than picking,... while picking.

Does an actual prototype of this exist that someone has actually seen working.?
So it is not yet kicked off on Kick-Starter yet?

All I saw it do in the video was just the front edge of the pad placed down, then flashed some leds when turned on,
the sound track could have been prefabricated for all I know.

I would have thought that after a year, there would be more demo videos..

EDIT: Ok I did a bit of research, and found their website
https://www.acpad.com/

If you look in the demo video there is no controller/battery pack at the bridge end, like there is in the new product photo,
which Is why I called B.S. to the demo.

The site says

"ORDER NOW and be one of the first to own an ACPAD."
so I guess they are not available yet maybe?

Does anyone here have one??

Found a ACPAD Facebook page

with a new video, I find this one hard to believe it is a live recording too.
can someone prove me wrong?

Cant be live  - My big red flag indicator is because  there exists zero phase changes  as he sings , yet twists his head  left & right and constantly changing the distance between his mouth and the shirt worn lapel vocal mic - yet the vocals on the audio track are perfect and no wind noise or other anomalies

At least they didnt have him performing in the middle of a rugby game in progress, or traveling in a helicopter

Just my pet peeve with equipment demo video's.

Music videos for entertainment is fine to have studio recorded sound track,
but I expect an equipment demo to be real-time (and real).

Not putting down the actual product, it looks like a nice useful device.

My fav part of that vid is when that basket ball came into picture and made the guitarist nervous   .

Hurricane

Thanks for the post I was thinking about this unit .

With a 6 month warranty  - - I was at one time interested but for the present  I'll  pass .

Just can't feel confident with so short a warranty period for the amount they are priced at presently .

The integrity of a company speaks loudly when hey show confidence in their wares with a period of no less
than a year .
