GK3 Radius not flat enough

Hey guys,

I have the pickup installed on my Ibanez that has about a sixteen inch radius. As most of you know, the pickup doesn't get that flat even when fully adjusted. Has anyone modded the pick to get a flatter radius than stock?

I should add, even though the low and high E strings are a little farther from the pickup, I don't notice any real performance hit. It's mostly a bit of OCD kicking in.

Everyone who uses a GK3 on a flat 16" radius guitar will adjust the GK PU radius screw for "flat-est " setting, install PU height at 1mm for D & G string and then use the GK String Sensitivity to adjust individual strings for balanced  output level.

Thanks Elantric. That's what I've done. Like I said...OCD  :P

Extreme solution is disassemble a GK-3 PU, and fabricate a new custom GK PU mounting base for the individual GK pickup coils - spaced to match the string to string spacing and height for your specific instrument

Like Chapman Stick GK -13 players do:
