This may be a newb questions so please bear with me.  I have a Gk-2a and Gr-30 that all works well, but the guitar out on the synth works but is so noisy to be unusable. If I directly plug guitar out to effects to amp it works fine, but guitar into GK-2a into Gr-30 to guitar out to amp it has a terrible sound.  Crosstalk?    I would like to use the standard setup so I can use the guitar/synth/both switch but the noise is so bad.
The guitar on it's own is a dual humbucker and totally quiet, even near computer monitors.
Is this a known issue?   Any cures?

Possible ground loop?
What is the GR-30 main synth outputs plugged into? Some other grounded device perhaps..
Does it help if the GR-30 main outputs are disconnected ?!?

Hi..
One problem than i see on GR-30 is the body that made plastic, is not good to provide good shield againt noises and eletric interferences, only the base is made metal, and maybe this contribute to happen this problems.

I had a similar problem with GR-55,despite being all metal, when i was on patch "GR-300", without playing ,there was much noise in amp, because at the moment, i dont plug the normal PU, when i put my hand on GR55 body the noise stops, so, i plug the normal PU cable, and through the ground guitar, all system was grounded and finaly noises stops.

you can try this tips:

try invert the AC plug on GR power suply or amp (to invert AC phase)

try (some way) screwing a wire connecting the metal base of GR to ground the output of GR, or the metal body of the amp.

See if the gain of GR effects is not too high.

See if the lamps that illuminate the environment are not fluorescent with electronic reactor, high frequency reactors often radiate noise all around and are picked up by the wires of the electric network, audio etc.

Check the quality and status of your audio cables, some cables works better like antenna to capture noises, than block them.

If you change your position on the room and the noise increase or decrease the noise is from eletric net, so you have a interference from 50/60hz, hard to kill.

Maybe GR has  filters capacitors from power suply bad, this hlp increase noises on system.

Electric fence if you have in your home, the electrified generates much noise on power.
This is confirmed if you hear a noise in the audio like this: tick tick tick tick, at equal intervals of time.
Turn off the system and see if the problem stops.

Finally you can try use a noise gate pedal.

this is ... I do not know what to say to help you ..
plz post your results...

I'm running my gr30 synth signal and straight signal into this Morley FX mixing pedal so I can vary the amount of either signal using the foot treadle and I do hear more noise coming through on that side. I'm wondering if painting the inside of the plastic half with the same stuff you use inside housing of your guitar electronics would help. I put a thick layer of foil over the top and it seemed to help. I guess it might just be psychological, I mean tin foil hats a pretty popular among some groups...

That used to work on old style jacks and plugs, back when both legs were the same thickness, right? Although trying different jacks and power strips can help.

That's a vague description, what sort of terrible? Post a sound clip. Folk are making assumptions about this based on too little info.

My fault,
I'm having a similar issue so I commented on this half a decade old thread. I'm using the gr30 a little differently than Roland's setup by running the synth output and straight guitar output through a Morley FX mixing pedal. I'm able to completely vary the mix between the two, but I do get a lot more noise through the straight guitar output. If I unhook the regular pickup input from the gk2a and plug a 1/4 right into the Morley the noise is not present, so it is something with the GR30. Thanks for the links. Regards CfI
