Has anyone tried these two together?
How did it work out?

Why?

IMHO - There are far better MIDI tone modules than a GR-20

The FTP will require a USB Host to MIDI conversion box ( iConnectMIDI 4+, Kenton, RaspBerry Pi)  )

Read about Tone Generators  here:

Mainly because I have a GR-20 and I do like the tones.
I could get a rompler later on but at least I could get started quickly and only need the Kenton or other conversion box. This all depends on whether the GR-20 will work with the FTP.
This rig would be used primarily for live gigs.

It will - AFTER you obtain a  iConnectMIDI 4+, Kenton, RaspBerry Pi) USB Host to MIDI conversion box

No - because Boss GP-10 is NOT USB Class Compliant

Raspbery Pi can be used to unlock 5 pin MIDI I/O with Boss GP-10, GT-001
