I added this patch to a thread on U2 sounds and realized this sounds more like some of the reverb effects on either Vangelis' "Beauborg" recording or some Eno things he's done with Daniel Lanois such as on the Apollo atmospheres and soundtracks recording.

So what is happening here?  Basically one side of the patch is a Telecaster thru a Vox amplifier with a little reverb and is very conventional, it's basically a direct copy of one of sixeights "vox rig" patches.  Set everything to one side and you get an alternative rock or country type patch.  Cool right?

The other side (my doing) is a Les Paul pitch shifted two octaves and sent to a plate reverb (with maximum density) on high feedback and it creates a strange cloudy tunnel of sound that follows every note.

You'll notice that playing single notes is more effective (I think) than playing chords.

The A-B knob or footpedal on the FC300 is the key to balancing the "Vox" with the "Valhalla".

So the idea was to make a type of patch you could use to play covers of the guitar sounds on the Eno record with the massive synth padding he has on that record.  Try it!

UPDATE: Just realized that after I listened to Apollo a bit you need to turn the high-cut on the reverb effect to make it have that apollo vibe.  On my version the reverb has a crispy high end (which I like) but the version on the Apollo record has a distinctly high-cut flavor.

Check THIS out though!  Some guys decided to do LIVE versions of this recording - awesome!
