Friends....this is a true milestone because I couldn't figure out Ableton for 5 months and was ready to quit but stayed at it just long enough for it to start to click.

This is a simple track using my Godin Session FTP guitar and Trillian for Bass, Omnispshere 2 for synth and I finger drummed the beats on Push.

I only have 3 clips going at one time.   It was recorded in Ableton. Just the process of recording session view tracks into arrangement view, rendering and exporting to SoundTrack is a miracle for a non techie like me.

I would love feedback, good or bad.  That's how we grow as musicians.

A solid entry BobbyD and I gave it a like over on SoundCloud. It feels good when the mist begins to clear and all that effort starts showing up as completed recordings eh? Gratz!

Cool cooking groove. I love deep repeating patterns and this one has got it spot on. Very good for a first one. Ableton Live is my first choice for songwriting as it's easy to get a quick arrangement. I tend to use the clip mode for sketching and checking out what works or not and then transfer the clips of choice to the track. Not the easiest DAW to get going, but far from the trickiest.

Keep up the good stuff and remember there is no such thing as bad music. It's all about personal taste.  :)
To V or not to V: That is the question.

A belated thanks to all who replied.  Ableton was very difficult for me to learn as is most technology.  MY brain can't read manuals so I have to learn from classroom or video instruction.  I am starting Dubspot in NYC in 2 weeks for a 6 month course (138) hands on hours so I am hoping this will help unleash the creative potential of this software.

Boy do you got that right.  I couldn't spell MIDI a year ago.  Trying to grasp all this technology was/is still a daunting task. But is sure does feel good when something comes together and you have a "aha" moment.

Also like deep repetitive grooves - almost hypnotic and then move around over the top.

Solid groove and a good first track entry!  it transport my mind to DUKE Nukem, just when he say "I looking good"  in front of the mirror. Keep going ahead with your ideas without fear.   Thanks for sharing.

Fear just pulls you out of being true to music, which is coming from a place of love. Love is the opposite of fear. I stay away from anything fear-related.
