Thanks for the links! :D I'm gonna have to get one of those jack plates to see if it will accommodate a Synth-Linx jack in place of the VDI. If it fits that will be great for my upcoming Aerodyne Strat GK-Kit install

Hi Guys,
Need help here.
I'm in Australia and there is no supply of these parts.
Fullcompass don't allow overseas credit cards or buyers.

I need to get a hold of:
Line 6 JTV Jack Plate Assembly
http://www.fullcompass.com/product/429493.html
$25.50 USD.

I dropped my JTV69 guitar with the vdi cable in and it shattered this part. Amazingly I can still (somehow?) power it via a network cable but the other connections must be broken because I can't update or do any controlls from my HD500.

I'm happy to gift (via pay pal) required costs/postage/reasonable handling fee.

If you can help out please contact me via: michaelandrewfox@hotmail.com
Thanks guys.

This part is often the source of problems for JTV-59 owners, this is the latest version and good to have as spare!

Elantric, are you still using your JTV live or are you using the GP10 live now for various guitars

I'm using a bit of all  DSp Guitar modelers .

I prefer the sounds of the Boss GP-10 or Antares ATG-1, but There is still a lot of desirability at some gigs for the Line-6 Variax's instant access to all Guitar models right on the guitar - with no "pre-gig" preparation

Ive spent years memorizing the Variax Guitar Models and where they are located on the Controls, and the Tyler Variax retained this arrangement for 90% of the DSP Guitar Models

Amazing Find!!

i love my jtv conversion and was so worried about future part failures i picked up a display jtv59 for parts at $700, the first thing that introduced issues on from my original jtv parts was the switch, it still works but crackles a lot when switching which resoldering the joints didnt fix (sending to line 6 was problematic as i live in UAE). i swapped the switches and still use the demo guitar in my studio but can now replace switch and have 2 fully working jtv guitars.

Thanks!!

Thanks so much, I had to wait almost 7 weeks to get my pickup type selector switch to get replaced, they didn't get my guitar back till the day before I had a big show to play and didn't have time to set it up or adjust the patches I wanted too.  When the switch went out it did something to my Pod HD Pro and it freaked out and started a endless loop of restarting (that I got back in three weeks).  I asked for the old switch back so I could see what parts were on it but wouldn't give it back, I hate guitar center (but that's where Musician's friend used for the warranty repair, same company different names, just like ordering from Musician's friend so I don't have to pay sales tax on big ticket items, beside they ship just on the other side of the state line and I get things within two days of ordering them with standard free shipping).

Well damn looking through the sites I didn't see the rotating pickup type selector switch they use on the JTV-59, that's the part I want to have a spare as well as the tuning switch.

Edit:  I should say Model selector switch not pickup type.

QuoteWell damn looking through the sites I didn't see the rotating pickup type selector switch they use on the JTV-59,

The Line6 JTV Variax Model Selector is actually a Linear Potentiometer - with a proprietary Line 6 " mechanical click" indexer.

Great article will keep that in mind as I'm sure it will do it again, or the Alt tuning selector switch.  Mine just got really loose and the knob was wiggling about as if it was about to fall out, since it was still under warranty I was afraid to take it apart and have them tell me I voided the warranty.

RyteTone

I just heard back from Full Compass Systems.  They can order the guitar model switch but has to be a full package that includes the volume, tone, guitar model, alt tuning switch, & the 3-way selector switch.  Here is what they said (the $37.40 + shipping doesn't sound bad at all!)  I will have to order one to have a safety net:

You must purchase the entire user interface PCBA which includes the vol, tone, alt tune, and model select functions... as well as the 3-way switch..

Part # 50-02-0371  (PCBA,UI JTV59)  $37.40 each + shipping (approximately 3 weeks lead time)

If you would like to place an order, please have the part number ready and give our sales team
a call at 800-356-5844 (please ask for sales)

let me know if you have any questions

thanks!

Are any parts not available on Full Compass?  I wonder if I could buy all the parts and create my own custom Variax build.

They are all there for JTV-89
But it might be lower cost to locate a gently used donor Tyler Variax guitar

GuitarBuilder

Thanks, Elantric! That's good to know.

I think Full Compass are not stocking the parts  >:( At least not with these numbers.

One question does anyone know if the JTV 59 has the same motherboard as the standard but with different firmware? They look the same. If so, can I flash the JTV-59 with the standard firmware and get some more models?

AFAIK - you can not load alternate Variax Firmware onto the "wrong" DSP board

Line-6 Monkey prevents this

chainsawdave

Thank you, you may have save me a lot of heart ache. I did swap the Mother boards between a standard and JTV-59 The standard behaved like a JTV-59. Hence the question.
