Now that I have some time to explore the possibilities
of the 99, accidentally I found out one way to create a
clarinet patch. The WAVE-synth is OK, set it to "square".
Filter 24 db, cutoff some 20, short filter attack, say 5.
Range +10 or 15. The filter decay has to be high or maximum,
as well as the POLY-comp engaged, or the poly slow gear,
if you want swelling sounds (which I don´t like much).

This sounded quite good today for me, maybe I´ll upload
a version of it soon.

The funny thing was when I set the alt-tuning to +12 for
all strings: now it sounded like a nice flute! Of course when
we play with such sounds, we have to keep in mind that
these "woodwinds" have alway a limited frequency range
in the real life. Depending on the position you play, it may
sound like an ocarina or maybe a bassoon...

Have a nice day/night, and thanks to Bill Ruppert for the inspiration!

OK, here we go! This is quite usable for me, hope you´ll
love it too.  Just play with clean picking techniques an
avoid chords, becaus multiple notes will decay in an unpleasent
way...
