MFer it worked. I knew something had to amok in the HKeyCurrentUser. Thanks. I will attempt a transfer. I looked at the log you posted and yes doesn't mean much like a dump. Muchos gracias.

we may have to sticky this workaround until they come up with a fix. its quite coincidental that this JUST started happening to me.

Excellent News!

We need to write up this important "librarian crash - solution" info on its own thread called " VG-99 Librarian crash fix"  in the "Bug & Workarounds" section.

Please do as I am very thankful. I have spent ages on this looking at regkeys and replacing and trying this or that to debug.

Ok I posted it up.  I have also emailed Roland support regarding the issue and pointed them to our forum for further info.

Guys:

How WOULD you take each individual patch out of this?

I honestly can't see how I can enter these into my VG either.
I've backed everything out but when I opened the library of patches it opened a separate window that doesn't seem to let me do anything with them.
The buttons for read/write are missing in that second window.

Ideas?

Update:  Yeesh.  Not super intuitive but.....I think I got it.

Yes, I figured it out.  The funny thing is that some of those patches are part of the factory patches.

So are some of the other patches in the Roland clinician group.

So it leads me to believe that in the U.S. Roland shipped the VG-99 with patches created by the demonstrators
like Gundy Keller, Paul Hanson, Jonny DeMarco, etc.

It leads me to wonder what patches were shipped in Japan and the far east and/or other locales.
