Looks interesting but not quite in production yet possibly.

Anyone contact this person on availability?

He has a website here too:

I just emailed him for availability and price.
If it's affordable enough this could really catch on

I'll post results.

peace.

Like I say, it seems there is an underground 13-pin scene that's kind of slumbering.

I just stumble across this stuff.

If I keep finding more I'll keep posting my findings here.

I inquired about price and received the following:

Thanks for your interest in the breakout box. As you can probably tell from my website, everything is still on the build. Yes you can have a box from me no problem.

The standard ready-made box without custom cables is £130.00GB including shipping etc. If you want the set of custom hi-quality cables (very low resistance), we'd be looking at £200.00GB. On top of this of course, I will supply you with full email support and further exclusive insights into RSS.

The cakebox project, is a little problematic at the moment, as I'm looking for a mass PCB manufacturer, and of course sufficient interest from the VG community to offer a great little kit. I suppose we'd be looking at £100GB including shipping. With the custom cables, £170.00GB.

I suspect the extreme GK preamp breakout cable with Hex pickup, is for the audio fanatic who must have the very best in audio.  The performance of the redesigned GK preamp is superb with an increase of 13dB signal-to-noise over the GK3 design, and it also boasts a much better Total harmonic distortion figure. The sound of the preamp far surpassed my expectations.

Haven't setup a paypal account yet, but will do quite soon.

Feel free to email with any questions.

I think I'm going to get one, I like the idea of re-amping from the DAW.
Im outfitting my cello with a 4 pole divided pickup and would like to try sending it through the VG-99.

Very Interesting....

Any body care to comment on the possible validity and value of his claims?  To help me decide if i shall purchase.

8ohm

Technologically totally possible - So I'd say his claims are valid.

His demo video shows that he has done it.
You can hear the patch sounds change as he re-amps through a VG-88.

Once he gets his paypal account set up, I'm going to get one.

Its cheaper than the RMC box found here:
http://www.rmcpickup.com/fanoutbox.html

And it has the added value of being able to send 6 channels back into the VG from DAW.
Any monophonic signal, doesnt even have to be guitar.
I can send cello lines into the VG-99 - happy days.
I cant wait.

Another thing is:

I've ALWAYS dreamed of running separate string outs to seperate amps or configurations
for true "surround" sound configuration.

But the re-amping/re-processing/re-modding ideas are contagious.

Also, I live with a talented trained soprano and imagine SINGING thru the VG in the poly modes.

The setup looks totally professional and nice.

With cables?  $320 USD.

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know, my V-Guitar Breakout Box Standard now comes in 5 colour finishes.

Available in a Roland GR-55 turquoise Blue, Burgundy, Battle Green, Black, and the popular Metallic Silver.  All colours are now in a hi-gloss laminate finish.

EXTRA MONO GUITAR OUTPUT (a sort of MK8 version)

The latest Breakout Box sports an extra jack socket output, for those who want to record their mono guitar at the same time or separately. Also using the mono guitar output, you will be able to impedance-match a mic/line-input, unlike a passive guitar output.

SHIPPING CHARGES TAKE A TUMBLE

I am happy to say that I have recently switched my trackable shipping service to a new and less expensive provider.  A typical orders shipping cost will now be in the region of £15.00GB - £22.00GB, unlike my previous shipping supplier's charges that were around £50.00+GB.  So now a typical Breakout Box order to the USA will cost no more than £175.00GB, give or take a penny (hi-end custom cables an optional extra).

Regards,

Bill Baxendale

I have the ME-50 pedal and am trying to completely ween myself off of it. I have to say after numerous live events it is still a bit frustrating not having consistant volumes between patches on the GR-55. I basically use lead, rhythm and keys plus the one sax patch to get me through. I will say i am learning  a lot as I go along with and without the paper manual by my side. I would say keep the GT-10 until you can get consistant and nice sounding patches to your taste, then make a switch. Just my opinion. Lot of great people on here who have different ideas and it will be nice to hear those too ;)

Welcome to the forum, edy 73. :)

I think a diagram/drawing would help understand what you're asking. ;)

Re-ampping via USB is not possible (like it is on the GT-10) because the GR-55 USB audio from the computer only passes to the output, and not though the GR-55 effects.

One way around that is to have a GK cable breakout box, record the 6 analog string signals to a multichannel recorder, and then feed the recorded 6 channel audio back into the GK input. This will give PCM, Modeling and effects.

Hmm, Guess I didn't really get it myself. I just thought he was having a hard time adjusting to the GR-55 and was reluctant to give up the GT10

The last option:
Feed the analog mono audio from the computer to the GK pickup "Guitar input" and process the audio though the COSM effects and amp sims.. (use the Normal Pickup source only)

or maybe look at Guitar Rig 4 software for re-amping..
