Hi,
I'm using a GR55 with my Ibanez 5 string bass and sudenly the low E string is not inputting into the synth.  The other strings work fine.  I'm kind of suspecting the cable, but thought I'd ask if anyone else has had this problem.  Thanks,
Marty

Make sure you have the correct GK position setting for 5 string GK mounting (although that would only affect the low B or high G).
Check the sensitivity settings in the GK setup, see if a signal is present in the level meter for the E string.
If not and the sensitivty is set high, then check the cable/connectors,
especially if it's a reasonably new cable,
clean off the stupid transit protective coating applied to the cable pins with some de-oxit.

Yep.  I tried the deoxit spray but it still has the problem.  One thing that I noticed was that if I unplug the cable (from either side) causing the power to go off on the pickup, the E string comes back on for a while.  I was holding a low drone and also noticed that the E string abruptly cuts out... not a fade out or fizzle.  It may be a power problem with the pickup.  Hopefully not a power transmission problem with the GR.  I think that the power problem is isolated to the E string though, which leads me to believe that it's the pickup and not the GR.

I've ordered a new pickup, so we'll see what happens then.

Checked the GK setup and string sensitivity settings in the GR-55 menu?
Does the E string register on the tuner?
