Hello:

I found the attached graphic representations of the RC edit environs useful for learning so if anyone else finds them useful, please use them and change them freely to suit your workflow.

There are three pdfs attached.

1."Start Here" shows sys and track level edits plus optional EXP and CTRL pedals. My other device (Line 6 HD500) is also shown on this doc but you could easily modify it to be a VR55 or whatever if you download the free VUE app (Visual Understanding Environment (free and open-source), http://vue.tufts.edu/. .

2."Assign-Page" is dedicated to the Assign hierarchy alone.

3."Control Change" is icons numbered for each of the available control changes, both MIDI IN and OUT. With the VUE app you could cut and paste the CC#s onto either of the other pages.

VUE didn't convert to pdf exactly. Some arrows disappeared but it still should mostly make sense.

PDFs are further down as attachments.

These .vue files are available from my public dropbox (right-click and "save as...")

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/88209173/Assign-Page.vue

VUE is still the best of the free and open-source mind mapping apps and seems to remain in continual development.

Thanks - those maps look very useful!  I have only given it 5 minutes of my time so far, but I will try to provide some useful feedback when I get a bit more time.  Already, just seeing the options laid graphically has made me realise that I have missed the odd option.
