OK this is the last time I whine about not having received my GR-55 but my point is I am dieing of curiosity.  Please post videos demo(ing) as many sounds as you can (remember sound quality from the camera is more important the picture quality) we want to hear the sounds not your fabulous array of solos...so please try to play the sound like the style of the patch. (wow demanding aren't I....I know beggars can't be choosy and I really appreciate anyone that goes through the trouble of doing one)

Also some of you genius have already figured out ways around some of the GR-55 weakness in programing and tweaking so videos on that would be great.  Roland should really thank you guys for doing this page and I plan on stepping up and being a big contributor when I get mine as well.

Not for me but since so many people are having problems with the installation and adjustment of the pick up maybe a video of position and tweaking tips would be in oder as well.

I really wish I could meet and jam with some of you guys and maybe regional jam sessions and workshops would be something I would organize here in LA.  Videos and blogs are one thing but having you guys in the room...wow that would be great. Imagine the jam session where everybody is playing different instruments on the GR-55 (i.e Bass parts, keyboard parts, horns, drums, percussions, ect) as a big band all controlled by guitars.  Most of us know that we really don't want to replace other instruments...guitars are special enough by themselves but adding to your sound arsenal is something I'm not to much of a purist to do.
Thank you Community, I appreciate you!

I wish someone could post a CLEAR video of just playing a PCM sound without the cosm modeling.  Something simple like an electric or acoustic piano patch (with the bend feature turned off  :P), demonstrating how well it tracks, including low notes and finger picking.  Much appreciated!

My ears were burning so when I found out about this discussion group, I figured it would be good to join. Thanks for the nice comments on my Nut Rocker youtube vid. I'm quite thrilled with the improved piano tracking on the GR-55.  While I hadn't heard your specific request for the piano patch - non-modeling example of the GR-55 - I also thought their needed to be one posted on youtube. It is indeed great tracking. I'm using the GK-3 pickup. I have seen even better tracking, significantly better on the low strings, acheived on a system using the Graphtech Hexophonic system. I'm not sure if that is due to the Graphteck bridge saddle pickup or the other interface being used (not a GK-55) or both. Does anyone have experience with the Graphtech system? I'm anxious to try the Carvin NS1 to see.

 8) http://soundcloud.com/ricardolove/ricardo-love-deep-in-the-1  A Draft demo showing the awesome sounds of the Roland GR-55 played by: Ricardo Love. The JB Electric Bass Guitar, The Hollow Body Jazz Guitar, The Electric Piano, other guitars and Horns are all coming from the Roland GR-55. If you don't know the this unit models guitars, basses and has two on board synths in addition to modeled amps and effects. A great production tool. I'd like to thank my daughter J'amoura for breaking my GR-20 making me buy this latest version. LOL Good things most often happen from unfortunate happenings.

Very very nice but if all sound and amps, fx etc came from the GR55 so... Roland made a great piece of blue.

Nice song, Ricardo.
Can you tell us more? Guitar used, drum machine, external effect etc?

Karmer Strat (did not use the guitar pick ups) with GK-3.  I took the the guitar sound from one of the stock patches and just muted the PCM sound. The Bass is the JB bass patch un-modified. Cubase 5 using the stock drum machine and beat designer which comes with Cubase.  I think I did add some reverb and delay and eq from Cubase but pretty much ran it straight in with no fuse on the mix.  I like the track so I'm gonna go back and Produce it more fully. Fix a few licks I was sloppy on.  That was one take and my two year old daughter was begging me for something as i was lying the solo down.  I started using my sound card again because i could not figure out how to make the thru midi work when the GR-55 was the sound card and I needed my keyboard to trigger drum sounds. Sorry I can't give you patch #'s I did not write them down but they are all stock with just the synth sounds muted.

Really happy with it now that I tweak it.  I just need a good Nylon guitar patch and to figure out the midi issue.  (I want to have a keyboard control midi as well when the GR-55 is the sound card via usb)

Really? could not believe that the jazz guitar sound is a Cosm guitar (the L4 one I suposse as its the only jazz guitar Cosm guitar).

Im mainly a jazz guitar player and I never have been able to get a decent jazz guitar sound from the VG99 Cosm guitars, its has been greatly improved or what?

Yes I guess so, I was really happy with the Jazz Guitar sound especially when I heard it back on the recording.  If I can find some one to do that with a Nylon guitar model I'll be in Guitar Heaven!

Wow, Ricardo - that is seriously good!  I just listened to your track twice, and it's hard to believe that was all a "direct to box" one man recording.  The hollow body guitar is especially impressive.  Have we come a long way in the last 30 years or what? LOL.  Very inspiring - and I'm noticing the new demos from the GR-55 DO NOT have that studdery, clumsy feeling on keyboard parts that you usually hear from unedited guitar input.  Much more natural. The whole thing just sounds like a really big audio improvement over my VG-88 system.

Cubase 5 has a pull down menu next to each track for MIDI input.  When you click on it, you will see an option for something like "All MIDI Inputs".  This should solve your problem.  I have several MIDI sources feeding in simultaneously with my Cubase setup.
