I'd not thought of applying a Volume pedal to the output. Good idea  :). Can get this one for about £20. Its a low impedance 50k one so should work

Its a real pain that roland elected to not allow for the additional of external Control/Expression pedals. I own a couple so could have been easily integrated

The System Setting Tab
Pedal/GK CTL
HLD
ASSIGN HOLD  ON
Was The Answer To MY Problem
i Had ASSIGN HOLD OFF AND THE PEDAL WAS ALLWAYS NOT RIGHT
I JUST LEARNED THAT YESTERDAY ON THIS FORM
and now it works like it was made to work

Hey !

I'm maybe the first to encounter this issue : my exp pedal switches on and off in high position, without touching it, randomly. I tried to set the sensibility at the minimum, nothing changes. I lost the possibility to use exp pedal switch.

The only way not to be bothered while playing is to set up the same effect with exp pedal off or on. But it reduces the possibilities : for example no way to drvie a wah on by switching the exp pedal.

Does someone has ever experienced this issue ?

There are two possibilities,
one: a glitch in the firmware from corrupted data, requiring a backup, factory reset, and patch data restore.

two: a faulty EXP pedal encoder/potentiometer. requiring a part replacement.

I have had the 4th option happen, where the pot was internally dusty and intermittent.
3rd option, they don't come loose that easily.

What I did with mine was remove the pot, and rotate the lever to it's limits, because in service, it only moves about 60% of it's travel.
I think that pushed the dust out of the way, and it has worked perfect since.

I only mentioned option 2, as many don't bother with DIY fixes and replacing a new plug-in module spare part is easier for most.
