OK, So I've waited seven years for a MIDI Controlled Bit Crusher. Since the Geiger Counter Civilian Issue already has 16 presets i need so I'm going to try to get my feet wet on the DIY approach. I am aware of digital potentiometers, MIDI Brain, and arduino but does anyone know if this has been done or point me in the direction to get it done?

The whole thing is adding midi program capabilities to two on/off switches and four knobs. I assume it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

Thanks,
Imer

One approach is using digital controlled potentiometers

Analog devices  / Maxim  / Vishay make several "digiPOT  IC's that withstand the analog power rails in most FX boxes.

its not trivial to implement (need full schematics)  - but those would be the control path I would i use  with  Teensy embedded CPU board  for MIDI control

Fast track is Google image search on "Digipot controlled analog fx" to learn circuit implementation options
