This might belong in the "deals" thread"
Just took delivery last night and its the best $189.99 I ever spent

Fender Super Champ XD Guitar Amp

This amp has faithful recreation of 16 different vintage USA  and UK amps, and has a real tube power amp of two 6V6's and 12AX7A phase inverter. Stock speaker works very well!

See post above for many "mods" to open up the routing  & multi FX possibilities.

I love this Amp!

als

hi there
I'm new here and English is not my mother tongue.
So first of all sorry for my English

I've just found this amazing mod.

But well there are few things i don't get :
-in the installation guide it's said "Strip the ends of the 8 (NOTE: is very difficult with side cutter, because the line break fast. RECOMMENDATION: using soldering iron)"
what does mean strip the ends of the 8 (i guess it's the 8 on the switch , but i don't get the word strip)

-it is also said :"Direct connection of P5 on the board with the encoder P5"
it only mean let the P5 wired like it is in the stock amp ?

finally it would be cool that you can remove the footswitch to bring the amp every where . Does anyone of you have found a solution like , i don't know, some kind of special plug that is cutted of when you remove the footswitch?

thank you for reading
have a nice day (or night , where i live it's 4am)

The Fender SuperChamp XD Mod was created by Sounds Service Berlin.
The original site is down - here is an archive

http://web.archive.org/web/20120119234756/http://ankertown.com/index.php?page=284

The Fender SuperChamp XD Mod created by Sounds Service Berlin is merely reposted here  - but VGuitarforums has nothing to do with it, nor any additional advice than what is in the archived zip file

Its also important to review the Fender SuperChamp XD Schematic
http://support.fender.com/schematics/guitar_amplifiers/Super-Champ_XD_schematic.pdf

Here is the original creator of the mod:

Elvis Valentine

Sorry to resurrect such an old post but does anyone know if this would work for the superchamp x2? and if so where one would go about buying a pedal or schematics to build one?
Cheers.

the "X2" is similar but different - SuperChamp X2 has Tap tempo button , and access to Fender Fuse software via USB  using a DSP board similar to the one used in the Mustang Mini

but AFAIK  - no schematics are available yet for SuperChamp X2,

A few years back,  I swapped my  SuperChamp XD chassis into an older 1970's Princeton Reverb cab with a 12" EVM-12L.  The Amp woke right up!

But now I have a few road gigs which requires traveling  with a smaller package so I want to go back to the stock SuperChamp XD cabinet again which dictates using a 10" speaker  -

The Quilter Micro Pro 10" uses a Celestion G10 Vintage speaker, so I ordered one for my Fender SuperChamp XD, goal is get close to the tone and larger dynamic range of my EVM

Hi folks,

I love this mod. I reviewed the technical specs. It does not seem to be that complicated. I think, It also possible to optimized the whole mod. I'll make a note if I'm successful!  ;D

Here is a pic of my scxd cabinet mod in a "Heavy Relic Hardcore Vintage Modified" version. Some details are still missing...  ;)
For more pics of the project look here:

And here is the latest status of my corona amp project:
Handle and cabinet finished  ;D AND

Floorboard with 3rd channel, boost and 2nd fx effect realized. :D

In comparison to the original sound service solution I made some changes. I placed the voice/ fx selectors to the back (see arrow on pic) . They are now used as a kind of "pre fixed constellation". Switching the channel from clean to voice I the pre set sound is active. Pressing Voice II/ OD II the voice selector in front / faceplate is active.
The same kind of process with the effects.
All foot switches  have LED.
The connection between amp and board is made by a usual scart-cable which is very cheap and reliable. No audio signals in the cable, only control, digital and power...
If somebody would want to have the voice one "fixed" , the solution would become much easier. The expansive sector switch could be canceled.
By the way: No mechanical changes of the amp! Only 2 cables interrupted!
Because of two sockets in the floorboard (see pic) , the scartcable may be connected from left or right side.
And the best solution: THE METAL BEER CAN design! 8) sponsored by Becks, Warsteiner and Desperados!
