When setting up the distances, one of the measurements is between the nut and the bridge, I'm not sure what is meant by the term bridge, do they mean to the bridge bolts ?

Nut to bridge distance is also known as "Scale length".

What make / model guitar is it? I typically measure the speaking length of the D string  - Nut to Bridge Saddle - as this distance.

From the GR-55 Owners Manual Page 10:

Choose "ST" (648 mm) for a standard Stratocaster type, or choose "LP"
(628 mm) for a Les Paul type.

You are needing to measure the length of the string between the two points of contact with the body, at the nut end just where the string leaves contact, and at the bridge end where the string contacts with the saddle.

Thanks for the replies gumtown, elantric, I appreciate it, I'm a total newbie . . .

My question arises because the GK3 setup only gives you one entry for this (nut to bridge) distance, and my distances are different since each saddle is farther or closer, so should I use the D string for this measurement as you suggested Elantric ?

By the way my guitar is an ESP = LTD M100FM

I'm having no problem with the saddle to the center of the GK3 pickup since there are separate entries for each string.

Using the D string measurement will be fine. That measurement doesn't need to be 100% exact. The 6 individual measurements from saddle to GK3, on the other hand, should be as precise as possible.

Specs are here:

Features:
Bolt-on 25.5" scale maple neck

So set the SCALE to "ST" - because your ESP LTD M100FM has the same Scale length as a Fender Strat (25.5 inches = 648 mm)

Choose "ST" (648 mm) for a standard Stratocaster type

Perhaps  .  .  .  .  I actually just left this at the factory default ;)

On the other hand, for best results - the single most important aspect for GR-55 success is YOUR PLAYING TECHNIQUE should be as precise as possible. : )
