For a quick setup, I use the Pedal Train Soft Case PT-JR-SC
A compact pedalboard frame, perfect for players who want to keep their setup small and simple, or for the quick weekend jam where you need to take along a few of your "must have" tones. Includes a durable padded gig bag made of cordura nylon, with adjustable shoulder strap and gusseted exterior storage pocket for cables, straps, etc...

Frame
- 17x12.5x2.5 inches
- 3 lbs
Soft Case
- 19x15x5 inches
- 4 lbs

I attached the power adapter snugly to the frame and just leave L shape 1/4 in in place to avoid breaking them in transit. I just plug the gk cable as I can't find the L shape GK ends here in my area. It my go-to efx/synth setup for those small gigs. Set's up in less than 5 mins.  Kind regards

I'm pretty sure I used the 18 x 11.5 x 4.5 size.

Plenty of room for cables and adaptor in the outside pouch.

Thanks Tie!
That would fit with plenty of room.
I did see this, it may be tight but its hard to tell!

I believe I use the same one, I originally got it for my gr33, and the 55 fits well (with a bit room to spare).

Warning
This did NOT fit:
World Tour Strong Side Gig Bag 4 - 16 x 9.5 x 4.25 inches

The bag is smaller than 16 at the top and bottom edge.
No Good.

I have mine mounted on a Pedal Train Jr pedal board and I carry it in the PT soft case. Lots of spare room for cables etc and the power supply is mounted right on the board.

I use a padded backpack designed for a 15.6 laptop.

I use similar... mine also has an extendable handle and wheels! I added extra foam to keep her nice and protected. Internal and external pocket hold my stereo direct box, xlrs, 1/4 and 13pin cables just fine! There's even a cup holder on the outside for the GatorAid and coffe!!

I'll try to upload a pic of it... best thing is that most won't suspect it's holding over 1K of gear!

that is nice. I got mine in an aluminum case that I got from Harbor Freight. Yours looks more streamlined. Might reconsider getting that. Thanks for the info.

I use a Swiss Army 15.6 laptop back pack to transport the gr-55.
Good fit and protection.  Also works well with laptops.

I had a Dell back pack type laptop bag, 2 compartments, padded inside with nice shoulder straps. makes for a great carrying case on your back, guitar in one hand, little travel suitcase with wheels for my cables/gear...one trip from the car to the gig, basically

I also use a backpack and it fits everyting I need for a gig. I have to laugh when I think back to lugging around a 1/2 stack, an ART SGX200, an X-15 Ultrafoot and some stomp boxes.

Yup, I haven't taken my Fender Pro Reberb and pedal case to a gig since I got the GR-55 a few of months ago. I still take a spare electric strat copy and a small practise amp (to mic) as a backup.

OK, so this might be a lame and obvious topic....but i was wondering if the guys with a bit of experience could share some insight into what is a "must have" list of stuff you take to a gig when using a GR unit.

i'm thinking to get my hands on the following:
-spare 13pin lead
-USB with backup of user Patches (i guess you can restore your patches if needed, without a laptop...)
-spare power pack (aftermarket?)
-contact cleaner for 13pin connector

Not sure how important the lead is (although i carry extra guitar leads, i can't remember the last time I've needed them....), but this multicore-type might be more problematic?? and it does tend to twist itself up a bit....

Does the EXP pedal ever need adjusting? (i know guitarist that curse their POD pedal drifting when the drummer starts...)

Anyone had issues with the GK pick-up coming loose from the doublde sided tape?

Machh_2

I already had problems with my old pickup GK-3 to drop the double-sided tape, so after that I screwed the pickup into the wood. I never had problems.
and today my GK-3 pickup is also screwed. the best solution ....

You should always prepare for the worst, a plan "B" is required.
If your GR-55 self detonates and implodes, take a small pedal that will help get you though the show.
I always take a spare GK cable and a backup GK instrument,
I am fairly confident the GR-55 won't let me down on the day of a gig.

GT Central has a gig bag (for purchase) for the GT, is there a gig bag for the 99 or 55 from VGuitar?

Don't forget to add the GR55 to your list ;D Oh yeah, and beer money.

I've heard of some people using the larger laptop cases for the GR55, as a gig bag.

Epi LP Modern

Waza Air Headphones
Boomerang III

And, a lot of stuff I DON'T need

gandolf

Yeah, beer money.... remember those gigs that included a few drinks for the band....they're not as common now days...

PS: just thinking about this....an accessories pack would be a great "Group buy" idea...??

TheCantNots

I 've been using an old case from a telecaster I had . I put two towels in the case and the pedal is nice and secure and it gives me room where the neck would be to put the power cable and some other things. I also use the towels to put around my pedal on stage to protect me from people knocking over drinks that get left on stage. I'll post some pics when I get a chance but it fits in the telecaster case rather nicely :) Someone really should make autobox iphone type cases for guitar pedals!
