I've owned a Roland VG-8 for the past 10 years and was wondering if I would need to remove the GK-2A pickup and replace it with a GK-3 to use a GR-55, or will the GK2-A work just as good? Also, the improvements in tracking and playing dynamics that Roland have discussed - are they down to the technology in the GR-55, or is it the GK-3 that's responsible, or is it a mixture of both?

i had the gk-2a on my guitar but replaced it with the 3 because i bought it included with the gr55 package. as far as i can tell, both performed the same.

I have a GK-2A on mine, and it works very well with the GR-55.. :)
