Monitor/speaker setup (noob question)
« on: March 14, 2017, 02:52:36 PM »

I'm new to modeling, and I don't understand how people are using speakers for amplification (live). I've seen people mention just using monitors somehow. How does that work? Do you just mic it?

I have an Alto TS210 that I've been using at home. I haven't used it to play with anyone yet, but I have a jam coming up (and hopefully some live dates in the near future) and I'm trying to get my head around what to do (planning to leave my amp at home). I did a quick search of the site, but didn't find any basic speaker setup guides.

What is the most common way to do this?

Either straight in to a PA system with stereo monitors directed at me
Or I use 2 Opera DB 15" powered speakers in stereo behind me.

I play Country music too, I'm just not sure which country it's from...

Thanks! That clears things up a bit.
