Potato quality video of the unit in action at Musikmesse 2016:

The Effects Database entry on the unit with pics of the jacks:
http://www.effectsdatabase.com/model/mooer/oceanmachine#pictures

Unit has jack for expression pedal, stereo in, stereo out, MIDI THRU, MIDI IN and DC IN.

The Gear Page has a good clear photo of the unit and some commentary.

According to what I've been told, the unit does incorporate spillover from patch to patch which would be great.

I'm really excited about this since it has not only double delays and a reverb and midi controllable but also a looper.  I could concievably consolidate my gigantic pedalboard to one of these.

The controversial and eccentric Devin Townsend will have its pedal reverb / delay / looper signature: the Mooer Audio Ocean Machine, presented at the Musikmesse 2016 and joins his now legendary guitar Framus Signature, with which we could see a few months ago composing a theme "express" in 2.5 hours live and live in this article, making the company pedal leave, at least in terms of what he's concerned, fashion mini pedals, creating a large soft pedal, midi and with endless options of use and configuration.

The pedal has two delay controls, A and B, both separately adjustable (Feedback, Time, Tone and D.MIX) and with 9 settings each delay; reverb control, one in this case also has 9 possible configurations of reverb and individual adjustment controls (shimmer, decay, tone and R.Mix).

In the center there is a large LCD pedal with which to navigate menus and search through stored configurations, since it has internal memory to store presets both to the looper.

Buttons triggers effects have triple role, as also trigger the Rec / Play / Stop Looper and allow you to change the speed of delay in half and reverse it. Combining two of them have functions tap / tempo change presets and stored.

The name of the pedal, Ocean Machine, inspired by one of the albums of Devin, album which makes heavy use of these kinds of effects itself:

Finally, I have been wondering about this pedal since April. Hopefully it will be on sale soon and not remain a rumor as it has been.

This looks wonderful - and, if it wasn't for the Shimmer reverb, the SY-300 would be able to do virtually everything this box can do and more.

Small omissions can create a big difference in sound and function. If the SY had an assignable fx loop you could patch in a Shimmer verb and have a monster ambient box. But the loop in the SY is fixed...

I'm yet to hear/see a proper demo of this unit. Mooer have been on about it for months. I'm intrigued seeing that I'm after a sophisticated delay pedal. Lot's of choices these days!

Still no word on a ship date

Remains "unobtainium" for most folks.

Can't understand the buzz around this pedal - a Youtube run through of the patches reveals largely very samey panned delay based stuff. You can do sooooo much more with Tonestack in terms of building complex ambient patches. There is of course the small matter of it being not in a robust on the road format but nevertheless I'm gigging with the ipad now and am almost constantly using a custom built particle reverb patch in Tonestack

Sorry just found it underwhelming   :(

For the price point it's pretty amazing to me with the looper.  But so far nobody is doing a demo the way I want to see it:  I'll do one when I get ahold of one of these.  And it won't be pretty clean chords with light filigree although that's kind of nice.

I'll be using it in conjunction with my existing setup and my Strymon Big Sky to create textures impossible any other way.

The stuff in the intro of this video is the closest thing I can think of that I KNOW the device can do:

One thing - its Mooer, and many products are unobtainable  -  / hard to locate a local vendor.

The Ocean Machine remains currently not available anywhere  - despite being revealed last April 2016 at Musikmesse

i dont expect to see these available until Summer 2017

NAMM 2017 hands-on review: Mooer Devin Townsend signature Ocean Machine
By Michael Astley-Brown January 23, 2017Guitars

Getting to grips with the do-all delay, reverb and looper pedal

NAMM 2017: It's been a long time coming, but Devin Townsend and Mooer's all-encompassing delay, reverb and looper pedal, the Ocean Machine, is finally here. The stompbox took pride of place at this year's Mooer booth, and we were given a tour of its myriad features before sitting down to spend some quality time, one-on-one.

In its default mode, the Ocean Machine's three footswitches turn two independent delays and a reverb on and off. 17 delays and nine reverbs are available to choose from, adjusted via the controls at the top of the unit.

The pedal can also be set up in preset mode, with 24 spots available to save sounds. We were impressed by the detail available from its small screen right from the first boot, which displays the Mooer and Devin Townsend Project logos.

Basic operation via the top-panel controls is straightforward, with an impressive array of sounds on offer - the usual analogue, tape and digital sounds are there (complete with onboard tone controls), along with modulated types, plus Crystal's shimmers and Rainbow's discordant shifts.

Reverb, meanwhile can get as trippy as you like, with phase and flange-enabled types, while a dedicated shimmer knob dials in pitch-altered versions. We were pleased to note that the quality of the shifting is far superior to previous Mooer pitch pedals, and while it's perhaps not as refined as similar sounds from the likes of Strymon, it had no problems tracking extended chords during our playtest.

Going deeper

Delay times can be set in various subdivisions, and both delays can be rhythmically linked to provide syncopated patterns, while the delay and reverb can also be frozen for infinite trails. What's more, the pedal offers the ability to set reverb types so trails aren't cut when you change types.

The Ocean Machine's looper offers up to 60 seconds of recording time, which isn't as much as, say, Boss's DD-500, but will be sufficient for all but the most dedicated of loop friends. Meanwhile, DL4 fans will be thrilled with the stellar sound quality of the half-speed and reverse functions.

Accessing the pedal's various menus and functions requires a fair amount of familiarisation - something we didn't quite have time to do given our limited time on the show floor - but anyone keen to get the absolute most out of it would be advised to invest in Mooer's forthcoming C4 wireless controller, which can be assigned to control tap tempo and looper functions. It connects to the Ocean Machine via a 2.4Ghz wireless link, so you can easily stick it on the floor next to your pedalboard, too.

Mooer to come

It's difficult to get into too much detail here, but from our time with the unit, we can confirm that the tones are top-notch and the features exhaustive. We'll need to sit down properly with the unit when it's released in late March/early April to assess how easy it will be to use live, but given the many months Devin spent honing the pedal with Mooer, we're sure it won't disappoint here, either.

What is for sure is that Mooer's Ocean Machine - along with its 10 new mini guitar preamps - will be the pedal to propel its maker into the FX world's big leagues, especially with a price tag of $299-350 (around £250). We can't wait to see what this increasingly innovative Chinese company does next.

As I seem to recall, we are both in or around the Twin Cities area.

https://www.prymaxe.com/products/mooer-audio-wah-digital-auto-wah-1
I pre-ordered through Prymaxe because they had a discount, bringing the cost of the pedal down to $248.  The discount applied to everything, whether available at the time or not.  Otherwise, I would have waited for the "early adapters" to wring out the bugs. :)

Anyway, if one of us gets the pedal, we should let the other see it too.

This pedal, uniquely has really all I want in a pedal board.  I am not interested in distortion and can take or leave much of the rest of it.  Two delays, a reverb, and a looper is pretty much it.  I would rather be similar to Phil Keaggy, making use of short loops weaved into the fabric of a tune as part of the music, rather than having long karoake-type backing loops to play over.

I will probably also be interested in the Mooer C4 wireless external switches that are supposed to work with the Ocean Machine.

Best demo vid so far:

Manual:

Cannot see midi clock!

Would love if Delay A and Delay B can be sent left and right in a 2 amp set up.

rcf1956

I'd love one, but has it really only got 24 user preset slots? I'd probably  use all of those up in the first 10 minutes of playing with it...

tbeltrans

Thanks for posting that demo and the link to the manual.  The last I heard, a few weeks ago, was that these are expected to ship some time around mid-April, so possibly another 2 weeks (?).  Anyway, I still think it will be worth the wait, especially since I was able to apply the discount to my order.  So mine is paid for, and it is just a matter of time. :)

Rhcole

I saw another review that commented that the pitch-shifting and other digital processing was not as good as Strymon etc. The sound clip definitely has a grainy and aliased aspect, although that can also be creative inspiration.

tbeltrans

The most recent delivery date I have been given by Prymaxe is May 10.  For whatever reason, the date keeps moving out.  I don't know if the Ocean Machine is continuing to be improved and is not ready for release other than a few demo units, or if it is finished and there are manufacturing issues being ironed out.

I heard another demo that had smoother algorithms.  I guess it's down to how you use it.  It's not going to be Lexicon/VG-99 quality though methinks!

I understand the thing is under extremely heavy demand.

I'm about to go on a trip to the UK so my money is earmarked for that even if I could get one soon.

Thing with that grainy although intriguing Premier Guitar review is there are no chords in the sound clip. If the shifts produce chordal hash in this box it will have little use for me.
