Hi
I have installed a gk3 install into a PRS se.
What I would like to do is utilise the 3 way switch to cut the mag pickup output to the quarter jack instead of the standard kill to the 13 pin
Any ideas or techy sparks out there would know how to wire this mod?

Thanks

GK-3 and GK-KIT-GK3 use a Double Pole Double throw ON-OFF-ON ( center off) switch for the  (Guitar/Mix/Synth)  "three way switch
This circuit relies on the 2nd pole to select resistors that set the proper DC Control voltage on GK 13 pin jack's  Pin#9

Use a Miniature 4 Pole Double Throw Center Off Toggle Switch (ON-OFF-ON)

Replace the existing GK-KIT-GT3  (Guitar/Mix/Synth) three way switch (SW2 in schematic above) and solder the wires in the same manner as old switch to the new new 4PDT switch above

with the remaining available contacts on 4PDT you can use to mute the  1/4" output

Is there any way I can utilise the standard 3 way switch already part of the set up (gk/mix/mag)?
Cheers

Review the old internal GK-2 kit circuit below:

Old GK-2A circuit uses a SPDT (Single pole Double throw) ON-OFF-ON ( center off) switch  - and that opens up use for your existing DPDT (ON_OFF_ON) switch pole as a spare for other uses

And must  disconnect GK 13 jack's pin #9  - then you must change all connected to gear to specify the "GK TYPE = "GK-2A"

Roland / Boss gear since 2005 relies on the GK Setting set to GK-3 and uses Pin#9 DC Control voltage to change MIDI CC#7 Patch volume
QuoteGK-2A makes no use of pin 9, (its a "no connect" free pin)  whereas on the  GK-3 pin 9 is utilized:

The GK-3 driver doesn't need the control voltages, it provides them.

As per Roland's 2004 preliminary GK-Compatible Guitar Design guidelines,
the DIN-13 pin 9 has the following spec:

__________________________________________________

GK-3  pin no. 9 assignment:
Name: "Sel"

Function:select signal
GK-3 Pin  9 Specifications:

0.521V(+/-5%) : GUITAR position of GK-3 compatible
1.042V(+/-5%) : MIX position of GK-3 compatible
1.563V(+/-5%) : GK (Synth)  position of GK-3 compatible
