I acquired a JTV-69s at a bargain price, which turned out to be a very nice guitar. I know some are not happy with the neck, but works fine for me. I like generally like the tone and versatility of the neck and middle pickups; however, I was not happy with the bridge pickup. Although I knew replacing it will void the warranty, I have no use for a guitar I will not play so I decided to put in a Seymour Duncan JB jr. It is a perfect fit for single coil cavities (although deeper than most single coils, there is enough room in this guitar for an easy fit). It was a tad more difficult with the amount of wiring and PCB soldering, but pretty straight forward.

I am very happy with the results - great humbucker tone in the bridge, with nice chimey single tone jangle in the neck and middle positions. Well worth the $75 investment.
