GR-09 - power supply ?
« on: March 03, 2016, 11:22:57 AM »
I have a GR-09 which takes a 12vac psu. I noticed that my old JS-5 uses a 14vac adapter that fits into the GR-09 and was wondering if it would be ok to use it. Is the extra 2 volts going to hurt the device? My guess is that it will probably work fine, however, I'd like to check in with the members to get some other opinions. Thanks, Buck

The reason I put this question in the general discussion area is so that the members might see the post and provide some input. I'm quessing that most folks would not check out the gr-09 page unless they owned one.  I'm aware that the bra-120 is the proper adapter, however, if it would be harmless to use an adapter I already own, then why not? It's gonna cost forty bucks to buy a new one and this old man likes to save $ whenever possible. I've already spent way too much on this synth stuff, dontcha know. The question is not so much about the device as it is about the acceptable range of voltage allowed. If the extra voltage would be damaging to the gr-09 ,  I will buy the proper adapter. Cheers!
