Just took the GP 10 on my first gig. Love it. But I hate cable clutter, and I especially hate the wall wort and it's cheap cable.

I have wireless mics. I use an iPod Touch to control the DAW (Digital Performer) via wifi. The GP 10 is the only piece of gear that goes on the floor. I want one USB cable going from the GP 10 to the laptop/rack, which can be up to 20' away.

Anyone installed an internal battery? 2000ma would last 4 hours playing time, enough for any gig. It should be a native 15V (not converted from 5V). There's gotta be enough room in there.

How about powering it from the USB cable using a 5V to 9V boost converter internally.

I noticed it's 12V not 15V, though obviously it works.

I have found flat pack Lion batteries that are rated for 12V nominal but are technically 10.5V - 12V depending on the level of charge.

Are the ratings on the XTPower unit similar?

Thanks

XTPower MP-10000 External Battery Pack with 10000mAh using dual USB 5V and DC 9V / 12V 2A
has a switchable +9VDC or +12VDC output

I run this on the 9VDC output to power GP-10

+ add a Visual Sound CYR Converter for One Spot Power Supply with Reverse Polarity - to make the 2.1mm coax DC jack negative tip to match the Boss GP-10 DC Power Input requirement.

Well I knew the supply voltage would be regulated down a few volts, but 15V to 9v is quite dramatic.

I'm sure I can find a suitable internal battery. I'll post the results.

Thanks

Why do you need 15 volts, when the GP-10 runs on 9 volts ?

Exactly!

Stublito, Perhaps you are not seeing the battery pack I'm using?

In my use, XTPower MP-10000 External Battery Pack with 10000mAh using its +9VDC output  powers the GP-10 for 4 1/2 hours

Geez, my old eyes fail me again.

The label on the adapter says (in tiny lettering) 15W ha ha, sorry for my mistake.

And finally, to put a fork in this thread, there is not enough room to install an off-the-shelf internal battery of sufficient capacity, due to the space wasting AAA cells everyone uses.

Guess I'll be visiting Amazon, thanks.

There is plenty of room inside my GP-10 to install this 10,000mAh battery pack  - but Id rather have it external and leave the GP-10 stock and under warranty.

I use a Sanyo Eneloop Pedal Juice to power my whole board, including the GP-10 for what it's worth.
