I bought one of these recently I thought i'd comment.

I had the original. Never used it.

I own the Triple Play which is a great improvement over Roland, and i've also owned a Ztar, which was ok for a button controller, which the YRG is, sort of.

Point is, the Radius neck is a VAST improvement. I immediately new this after about second. I also knew this was far batter than anything i've ever used.

The only thing now that needs to be done, IMO, is to improve the picking string triggers, which, frankly suck horribly....horribly :D

But these will improve

Quote"There is no question that this is the greatest musical instrument since the invention of the piano."

QuoteJimmy Hotz demonstrates how the Hotz Translator Software (the powerful Hotz Box translation engine) can transform a You Rock Guitar™ into a Super Musical Instrument that anyone can play !

The Hotz Software translates the Musical Notes in Real-Time to become the Correct Notes for the Chords and Scale Changes.

Simple Gestures can have Dramatic Results !

All possible Voicings of the active Chord are available with simple fingerings, regardless of how complex the Chord may be.

Notes of the current Musical Structures are available in
intuitive creative layouts, such as a sequential order, both horizontally and vertically.

The Hotz Translator Software transforms any MIDI Controller into a True Musical Instrument with Super Instrument capabilities. In fact the entire song used in this demo "Jimmy Hotz - Long Long Ago" was recorded using the Hotz Translator as the exclusive Performance Instrument.

Even a beginner will experience immediate Musical Gratification with the Hotz Translator Software

Experience powerful improvisational control on a Superior level, which previously required decades of study and practice, using traditional methods.

I bought a Gen 2 last year and my experiences are exactly the same. Touch sensitivity of the radius neck is much more consistent compared to the standard neck.

And yes, the string sensitivity sucks, it is not consistent at all. The different velocity tables are completely useless imo. The YRG is only usable with fixed velocity, great for organ, but with piano all expression is lost. With the variable velocity tables it's getting worse, because velocities are becoming more random.

What makes you think that it will improve? Do you have any information about this?

I'm a finger picker and the YRG would be a much better tool for me, if this could be fixed with a firmware update. I was wondering, if it could be a hardware problem.

Is anyone using a You Rock Guitar? I saw this very good video and I have a breath controller already so I am really tempted to buy one. Before I do, any feedback from You Rock Guitar users?

Elantric

I still have You Rock

Nothing faster as a tapping Guitar like MIDI Controller

Forget obtaining consistent triggering from the right hand string triggers

And of course no string bending - but there is a whammy bar

AFAIK - You Rock is Dead / History -

http://www.yourockguitar.com/

http://store.inspiredinstruments.com/

which was supposed to be the cash cow for  supporting development of the

LineAge  - which never got the String bending Pitch bend to work

And Lineage site has not been updated since 2014

and they have not been to NAMM since 2017

Hi You Rock Guitar Fans,
This is the Tuning List but some changes have been made to it for the production models. 6 String Bass Tuning was added and their may have been other changes. Also the Tunings in mine do not match this list exactly. Almost all of the Tunings do, but a couple have typos and one tuning was replaced by a different one. Plus James 6 String Bass Tuning replaces #64 in my non production model.
I converted some of the pages in my YRG PDF to Text pages. The Tunings, The Digital Guitars Lists, The Synth Sounds List and the You Rock Mode Lists.
Happy Tunings

Myself I use the YRG  Tapping Mode to enter MIDI Note data into my DAW, or play iPad Garageband Instruments   - just use a Apple USB Camera Adapter and a USB cable from the YRG USB Output

Never touch the YRG Control Panel app or the YRG Strings
