Resources for MIDI-controlled switching banks?

I can find some good stuff pretty easily on DIY MIDI host devices and some other basic utility items, like splitters.  But I wanted to see if I could take these projects a bit further.

I've got a bunch of gear with non-MIDI jacks for foot switching functions, like channel-switching jacks on amps.  Used to be that there were a bunch of products were out there with MIDI-controlled relay banks or similar to hook up and have MIDI switching of non-MIDI gear (MIDI Octopus?).  I haven't come across anything DIY on integrating this sort of switching with MIDI control, whether via Arduino or a standalone programmed microcontroller.

I can find some projects for microcontroller-brained bypass loopers, some with a basic MIDI out, all of which is similar enough that you'd figure you can just reapply the microcontroller stuff, but none of those seem to go into controlling the switching with MIDI.

Anyone got a good lead?

(What am I looking to do?  In total, give my Livid Guitar Wing a MIDI host to send MIDI DIN through a splitter to five MIDI controlled rack pieces, and do MIDI-program-based channel and eq switching on a Boogie Quad preamp and maybe a few other devices.  Yep, rack of doom stuff, but with some newer control niceties.)

Find NUX  MIDI controlled 6  Relay box The PMS-2 MINI switcher
( like a 6 channel version of the old 1980's Rockman MIDI octopus)  under $35 on EBay

To use a Guitar Wing as a controller connect the Guitar Wing 's USB Receiver  to a  PrimovaSound MIDX-10 as USB HOST to MIDI converter( or Kenton or Raspberry Pi+ USB  to MIDI Cable , and control a NUX PMS-2 MINI switcher
( like a 6 channel version of the old 1980's Rockman MIDI octopus)
