Popboard - Arduino based Bluetooth MIDI Foot Controller for IOS and OS X

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/920751612/popboard-the-arduino-based-bluetooth-midi-foot-con
The first MIDI controller based on Arduino ® technology and Bluetooth LE

Why Popboard is different from the rest of MIDI controllers?

Because it is based on open source with Arduino ®
Because it uses the MIDI protocol Bluetooth low energy LE
Because it works with a LIPO battery Lithium ion rechargeable long life
Because it connects to Mac and IOS devices easily
Because you yourself can mount
Because it comes with four buttons and connection for two external control pedals (Volume or Expression and extra CC pedal)

What can I do with Popboard?

If you are a guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, or anything that ends in "ist", Popboard lets you use your hands to your instrument and use your feet to modify the parameters of the patches and sounds of your MIDI application IOS.

Popboard comes preprogrammed with two modes:

Option "Patch & Bank" program change. Using this option, based on the MIDI standard SMF, the first two buttons are assigned to raise and lower the program and the remaining two up and down bank patches. This is useful in applications that have sound banks such as BSi16 CC
Control change option. If you select this option, the four buttons are assigned to a change of control, which can then be reallocated in each app to permanently change MIDI application settings, such as changing patch in Bias FX, Loopy o Ampkit

GuitarBuilder

Interesting alternative to Positive Grid's unit, but I'm assuming one has to reprogram the Arduino via IDE for other switch configurations?

Any typical Arduino hacker can build this already

Nothing new here

And I am afraid the code is not published, so you cannot change the programming.

Not particularly useful without a patch number display.

The kickstarter initiative also did not succeed with only 2 backers. So I guess this project is abandoned.

But there are many DIY foot controller projects to be found. I even developed my own:
